Adobe Acrobat purchased over 10 year ago no longer works after Downloaded Acrobat Reader DC Today

I have Windows 7 (already obsolete) running on my old HP Laptop. I shotdown my Laptop and restarted only to find out that I cannot use my Adobe Reader X. I read an information from Adobe to download recent version and I downloaded Acrobat Reader DC. I observed that upon it being donwloaded I can no longer see Adobe Reader X anymore. Now my Adobe Acrobat (old version) which works with the Adobe Reader X as at Friday 24 April 2020 no longer works. How can I resolve the issue as my Adobe Acrobat was purchased over ten years ago and I was told at the time that it was a life purchase. I would need to be able to use my Adobe Acrobat old version please help me.

I copied the following resultant "Check Out Solutions" output after I went through the Action Centre and then Maintenance of the Computer. I have been checking for the Installation Disk and unable to find it. I really need help to use my Adobe Acrobat urgently.

Remove Reader X and install Reader DC. You can get it here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/

That was what I did as you can see in my first post. I downloaded Reader DC and it is working but not the Adobe Acrobat X Pro. 

Previously before 26 April 2020 when I opened any PDF document i was able to redact and add separate files as one big file. So the New Reader DC was not synchonising with the Adobe Acrobat X Pro and as such I cannot redact documents and cannot add files to make them one big files.

Why do you have both Reader and Acrobat? And yes, if you install a new version of Reader it will overwrite the old one, but it should not interfere with your installation of Acrobat.

 

PS. A "life license" doesn't mean it will work no matter what. It just means the license doesn't expire. If you use the application in an environment it was not created for then it's at your own risk.

I had the Adobe Acrobat on my PC until the PC developed was getting slow and upon taking it a specialist it was destroyed with hard disk failure. So installed the Adobe Acrobat on the laptop purchased in place of the PC which already had Adobe Reader X pre-installed.

 

So I never had to open the Adobe Reader X or the Adobe Acrobat applications. It was when my PDF document I opened after the shot down on Friday crashed after about 30 seconds or so (I didn't actually timed it). So I actually shot down the laptop about five times before seeking help that led to the downloaded Adobe Reader DC. Since 14 Jan 2020 my Windows 7 became obsolete but I continue to use the laptop like that.
