Why does Adobe Acrobat Reader shut down when I drag a tab / an open file off the ruler?
I used to be able to do that, and upon doing so Acrobat Reader would open that file in another Acrobat Reader window AND keep the other file(s) open in the original Acrobat Reader window.
Now when I do this Acrobat Reader shuts down. When I reopen it, it tells me it shut down suddenly and asks if I want to restore the files I had open.
I often use this method to compare (2) PDF files side by side for design purposes.
NOTE - I am using a Dell laptop running Windows 10, 64 bit. View attached video showing what happens.

YAY! I found the fix - I disabled the new Acrobat and it fixed the problem. Click on the menu top left and scroll down. You should see an option for 'Disable new Acrobat'. Click on it, and now everything works as it did before.
NOTE - This now also opens files in the old Acrobat and not the new look.

Getting the same issue on version 24.005.20307. Disabling Acrobat does work as a workaround. Hopefully, adobe resolves with an update soon to the New Acrobat
.

Why is Adobe's solution to a known problem that is not new "Oh go back to the old version." This solved my problem. Thanks Adobe. Oh and get rid of the horrifically irritating "create" button. Noone needs that and it causes so much headache just scrolling over it.
