So do you get a lot of problem PDFs?  Perhaps you need to look into that?

I think you would be better served fixing the issue, instead of hiding it.

If I knew how to fix all the problems I have, this would be the best, but as I don't work at Adobe and I can't fix their product, the only thing I can do is just try to live with the error and try to hide it from the users so they can work

@TamirB

What happens when your users click the checkbox that says, "Do not show this message again"?

Is this happening the last  optional update that was published back in January 2023?

OR,

If you are missing the last optional update, see if applying that update fixes the issue.

You may also try "Help" +> "Repair Installation" (followed by a reboot)

You may not agree with my suggestion, but if you are on Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit), and Adobe Reader (64-bit), try reverting to the 32-bit version of Adobe Reader.

Needless to say, that suppressing Acrobat JavaScript alerts and messages from the registry doesn't resolve this issue.

But to answer your original inquiry, you need the Acrobat Preferences Reference and see if the desired registry key(s) preference or subfeature that you need to edit are lockable or not.

1. Adobe is installed on Server 2012 R2, and for that Os, the only version that I can download from Adobe is 32bit as there is no 64bit.
2. I know that this is not a fix, but as Adobe say, with every update, this problem is fixed, but it is not, so this is the best I can do for now
3. you send me a link to all the keys that Adobe has, and i know this link, but how can I find the key that I need
This is the same as sending me to read an article and saying you may find what you are looking in this article
but this doesn't help at all, as I need to know what I need to change in the registry,

I can give more info as I have found that I get to all the errors after iexplore.exe get to 1.2gb or ram. At this point, the Adobe crash

Well, I'm sorry I am just helping here as a voluntary contributor outside of my real job hours. You talk to me like I know the answers to everything or as if I owe you any answers.

I am an Adobe Acrobat customer like many other people here and I don't work for Adobe.

Reading and doing the legwork for other people is what I already do; speciallly for those who don't want to read. I do that legwork for free in these public forums.

But now that I think about it, I should start charging money.

Anyway, I don't work for your organization and they don't pay me to figure out what could be wrong or how to deploy Acrobat in those  Microsoft Servers.

That is your job  (or the IT Managers above you). So, if you are already familiarized with the Acrobat Registry Preference Reference then you have some serious reading to do.

If it helps, the Preferences Reference is combined with the Acrobat Desktop Configuration Administrator Guide:

In particular, all of the registry preferences that you're inquiring about are listed in the first link below. The second link provides more extensive preferences that shouldn't be ignored.

Last, you may also need to use the Acrobat Customization Wizard. The guides linked  below provide checklists to aid you in reviewing and assessing services configuration scenarios and how to customize administrative templates for your desktop users :

Hi
First, I am sorry if what I have written sounds as if I attacked you. This was not my intention.
I want to say thanks a lot for trying to help me and taking the time to do so, even as you are not getting paid for that.
I do wish that Adobe would take the time to add one of their employees to help, also a guy for the dev team that can say, all you need to do is add this key, and you are done with it
from all that I can find, there is no mention of any key that controls the error message popup windows, at list, not one that I can find in their info
so this is still a mystery.

@TamirB ,

No worries, it took me a little while to get back  with an more solid answer, but I think this information may help.

The message alert is still unclear unless you can  provide more details of the type of work that was taking place in Adobe Reader.

However, because the alert is related to a feature that appears as not available, it looks to me more like a particular service is being blocked at work (a security restriction).

OR,

If some or all of the PDFs that are sent to you (or shared with you) were produced with a paid-for version of Acrobat (i.e. a different license track), it is possible that such documents may have document-level preferences that are restrained when opened or viewed with Adobe Reader; therefore, maybe such features can only be  unlocked with a paid version of Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Prime example, since you've mentioned that you work at a hospital, it would make sense to me that some of the electronic medical records and electronic health records digital file types, to include patients'  medical billing and patients' insurance records are probably ditributed and shared  digitally accross many doctors and nurse practitioners computers.

And if that would be true, then it makes sense to me that Adobe Reader doesn't have the capability of importing an electronic medical chart (to name another example... a .csv file dataset that is  being pulled from an ECG database).

If that would be the case, then the problem could be related to file export/import to PDF (just guessing in the blind here), to include  copying and pasting text from one program to a text form field in a PDF,  accessing a PDF that is shared with other users via mapped network drives or folder, or trying to printing or Save As.

In any case, it would help if you can confirm what type of work was done with any file type that needed to be converted to a PDF document before it was viewed with Adobe Reader.

Sharing any type of error logs (if you are able to ) or even  a screenshot of the Windows Event Viewer ==> Microsoft Office Service alerts  (with no sensitive data , of course) may also help to get to the bottom of this.

After a bit more work, I have found out that the main problem comes from iexplore.exe as the opening of the pdf file is down by iexplore.exe, and with every file that you open, the iexplore.exe use more Ram, so all works fine up to the point that iexplore.exe get to 750 MB or Ram use and at that point Adobe crash or start to give error message.

Just for the test, I have installed Foxit, and I get the same problem

Foxit didn't give me any error, but it crashed at the same point, so I know I have two issues. One is with the iexplore.exe and Ram use, and the second one is an error from the adobe app even before we get to the limit of the Ram with iexplore.exe, and this is only an Adobe problem.

As for your idea, this is not the case as all the pdf files are made here with a plug-in from Adobe, and none of them have any security or limit as for sign doc or license.

As a side note, I get the same error with iexplore.exe  with a web app, so if you know of any software that can limit the Ram use of iexplore.exe it may help. I have tried all the free apps I can find, but none work.

And don't tell me to move to Microsoft Edge, as I can't. The web app we use only works with iexplore.exe, and in any case, if I work in Edeg in IE mode, I can get to 1.2Gb or Ram, and then it also crashes so this is not helping

Which version of Windows are your  clients on?

You also mention that PDFs are created using a web app, which web app? Please be very specific about all of your sofrware.

You mentioned that Acrobat is installed on a Microsoft Windows Server 2012?

Or did you mean  to say that the server is used as a file server to share PDF files ro Windows 7 or Windows 10 clients ?  Please be specific.

And what exact  version of Adobe Acrobat are you on?

Is this a virtual machine environment?

The limitations of physical RAM tells me that you are not using real desktop computers, unless they are super old computers (which it doesn't make sense having Microsoft Edge in such old computers).

Sorry about all these questions, I am just trying to find the relationship of iexplore.exe and PDFs documents. Maybe by using a web app you are referring to the Adobe Acrobat PDF extension or plug-in installed on Internet Explorer.

Which confuses me because if you are using Adobe Acrobat 32bit  then what  is Internet Explorer: 32 bit or 64 bit?

servers are Windows 2012 R2 run iexplore.exe 32Bit and Adobe 32bit

we use a web app name Chameleon and this app which is based on IE and opens pdf files that stored in the app DB (SQL Server )

and yes, this is all a virtual server environment run on XenCenter from Citrix.

Hi @TamirB,

Would you mind trying the steps mentioned in the given thread, which has a solution very similar to yours: "Acrobat has encountered a problem. Some features

Also, to ease down the RAM usage for internet explorer: From Internet Explorers Tool Bar, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Tab > select Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering check box.

You may try a few more steps from Citrix support which shares answers on how to ease up the RAM consumption by Internet Explorer: High Memory or CPU Usage in Internet Explorer when Run as XenApp Published Application

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi
Thk for all the help, but after I have tried it all
it didn't help in my case
I can add that I have even tried to use ControlUp software to limit the mem use of IE, and it looks as if the size of the memory didn't go over the size that I have defined still. After use, I get the same error. With Adobe so, even this didn't work

Just give me a couple more hours. I am actually organizing and writing my findings.

I was able to identify many other things that we are missing, but is a lot of info to organize in a way that will make sense and easy to understand.

I also found a way to reporduce some things with  Internet Explorer 11 that may be of your interest since you mentioned that MS Edge is not an option.

I have two more questions though, I am stuck with trying to find the version and vendor of the Chameleon web app that you are referring to.

All I could find was the Chemeleon Framework (very interesting software by the way) and how it implements ASP.Net Core. But there are too many things on the Internet that are named after Chameleon and doesn't seem to be related to what you have.

My second question is more if you can confirm if your database is actually Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL ( I need the exact versions, there is a big difference between these two database solutions on how they handle fail over and load balancing)
