Employee has a manual that is a series of PDFs linked together to navigate around it. I open the Index PDF which has a few buttons to go to other PDFs in the same folder. I click one of the links, the PDF it is pointing to will then open and error out: "This PDF cannot be viewed in Acrobat or Reader, and the application will now exit."  With protection enabled it tells me which PDF it is pointing at, and I try manually opening it and it has no issues opening that PDF. I took the files and attempted it on my computer as well using Acrobat instead and get the exact same error.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the delay.

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different file and check.

Make sure you have the application updated to the recent version 24.01.20604 from the help menu > check for updates and reboot the computer once

Also, try to turn off the protected mode for testing, Go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+k) > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable protected mod at startup' > click OK and reboot the computer once.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risk.

Let us know how it goes.
