This month, our community highlight is Adobe Video World. A virtual conference this year, it brings together Adobe users with Adobe Certified Instructors and the Adobe teams to keep attendees up-to-date with the cutting-edge features and provide them tools to maximize their creativity and technical mastery of the software. This conference took place on September 12–17, 2020.
A big shoutout to our community pros for sharing their experiences:
"I presented several sessions on After Effects itself, as well as on the business of motion design, covering everything from shape layers and displacement maps to working from home and having an ultimate Generate effects face-off with Evan Abrams. The conference also included morning coffee breaks and helpdesk sessions to give attendees extended access to presenters, and nightly virtual parties to give everyone a chance to make new friends and reconnect with old ones."
"Of course it’s much harder to network in an online event, but the AVW team did a lot to encourage small talk in between sessions. There were ‘coffee breaks’, ‘Birds of a feather’ sessions and ‘After hours parties’, all essentially different forms of video chats where you could join and meet other attendees. From a technical perspective, these Zoom calls worked pretty well – you could easily see and talk to 10 people or more, and the experience was really flawless. Due to the time zone differences, the early coffee breaks were mostly filled with Europeans like myself, whereas the ‘Birds of a Feather’ and ‘Party’ sessions were generally more crowded."
