How to correct timing of singing vocals with Audition

Hi there,

In most audio editing softwares geared towards musical production, correcting small mistakes in timing can be done on vocal audio finals. For example, if the singer started a word a little too late against the beat, then we can just tweak that generally the edit is unnoticable.

How can I achieve this in Audition? Thanks in advance.

Will try the suggestions, and come back with what worked best

Audition also has an automatic speech alignment option, though designed for dialogue, it might work for vocals.

I tried it on a vocal when it was new out, and it performed rather better than I'd been led to believe it would - certainly worth a go.

It is 2:45am here so I'll be brief

1. Make sure you are in Multitrack view

2. You can either stretch the clip (if it is a whole track then isolate that section and make it a unique clip then stretch)

3. You can also split the clip and move that word a little and xfade with the rest of the line

There are so many ways to do this it really depends on exactly what you are hearing and what you are trying to achieve
