UPDATE: 25.6.1 is available now, which solves the masking dialog problem described below. It is safe to update to 25.6.1. We have pulled 25.6 from Creative Cloud Desktop.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During our limited roll-out of the latest application update, we discovered an issue affecting a small number of Premiere 25.6 customers. Some users have reported seeing an incorrect dialog box prompting them to enable new masking features. This feature is still in public beta and should not be enabled as it may cause problems such as data loss or crashes.

We have removed access to this release from Creative Cloud and are working on a patch. We’ll notify customers when the fix and subsequent update to 25.6.1 is available. This is part of our normal release process to identify and resolve potential issues when launching updates.
If you have already updated to 25.6, we recommend updating to 25.6.1 (or higher, if available) or downgrading back to 25.5.
Updating to 25.6.1
Premiere 25.6.1 solves the issue with the masking dialog and prevents projects from getting upgraded. It is safe to update to 25.6.1. Instructions can be found here: Update Creative Cloud apps manually
Reverting to Premiere 25.5
If you updated to 25.6 and accepted this dialog, we recommend you take the following actions.
- Reset the app state by deleting the Debug Database.txt file found here:
– Windows: C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\25.0\
– macOS: ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Premiere Pro/25.0/
Please note: this will not reset your preferences or any other custom app settings.
- Revert to 25.5 via the Creative Cloud Desktop App. Instructions can be found here.
- If any of your projects went through the project upgrade path, you will have a backup. Look for the project with “_1” added to the end. You can delete this version. The version without “_1” is the unaffected original 25.5 version project.
– Example project name.prproj – 25.5 version. Keep this version.
– Example project name_1.prproj – 26.0 version. This can be deleted.
