Can I branch to several branches then have a quiz/assessment at the end of each branch?

Captivate 9

Can I branch to several branches then have a quiz/assessment at the end of each branch?

The situation: I have 10 roles taking the same training.  each will need to branch midway through and take their own quiz.  This needs to report on a Cornerstone LMS 80% completion.

You can have a look at a use case in this blog post: Branch Aware Quiz - Captivate blog

If you can cope with the navigation limitations due to Branch aware setting, you see that it works fine.

In theory this would be possible using the Branch Aware feature in Captivate.  But you would be well advised to do a lot of testing to make sure your LMS handles the results predictably.

I'm working with Cornerstone LMS and I've found a few serious limitations:

  1. SCORM 2004 is only partially supported, our files from Cp8 were generating large blocks of white space around the course files. We've had to retrograde to SCORM 1.2 to have a usable course.
  2. Cornerstone PILOT and PRODUCTION servers have no migration between them, so we'll publish a course briefly to PILOT and do some functionality testing to verify course completion and results tracking are recorded, then republish revisions from Cp to PRODUCTION, and only limit the initial availability for our review team.
  3. Creating quizzes in Captivate, managing pools, and rebuilding the course to be branch aware, finally rebuilding a separate Cp files was quite troublesome and tedious. We've now created our quizzes directly in Cornerstone to ensure rapid development timelines are obtainable.

Cornerstone has it's own two-file template for Quiz stem/questions and the response/answer importing. I've contemplated building a tool to manage questions, allow grouping into pools and export to GIFT or Cornerstone format.
