How can I add a fill in the blank option to a multiple choice question in a quiz?

That will not be possible for the default type of questions (SCORM protocol). But you can create custom questions using standard objects, variables and advanced/shared actions. 

How would you score such a mixed question? For the default types of questions only one of them allows partial scoring, the MCQ with multiple correct answers.
