ich habe in den Voreinstellungen (Preferences) die Anzeige für Smartshapes von 3 sec auf "restliche Folie" gestellt. Leider ändert sich dadurch nichts: Wenn ich Smartshapes neu einfüge, werden sie nur für 3 sec angezeigt.
I always change that duration for Shapes immediately after installing Captivate, as global Preference. Global means before opening any project. Here is a screenshot (since I don't know the terminology used in German).
Know that this will only be applied to newly inserted shapes. That is the reason why I am setting it up when in the Welcome screen, before starting any project.
If you want to change the duration for existing shapes in a project, do it for one shape and use the hanburger menu to apply it to the rest of the shapes in the project.
I read that it is not working for you even for a new shape, which is weird. Which exact version of Captivate do you use? Full number can be found under Help, About Captivate. Are you on Mac or Windows? When you reopen the Preferences do you see confirmation of the timing of the shapes? Can you try to export the preferences, import them in a new project and test the timing of a newly inserted shape? That is not necessary if you did it in the Global Preferences of course.
Danke! Im neuen Projekt sind die Smartshapes nun mit dem Timing auf "restliche Folie" - bis auf die Linien, die sind weiterhin bei 3 sec. Linien sind wohl spezielle Smartshapes? Dafür würde auch sprechen, dass die Farbe der Linien nicht die ist, die ich für Smartshapes im Objektstil-Manager eingestellt habe (Füllung und Kontur sind zwar auf 0, aber die dafür ausgewählte Farbe ist nicht die der Linie).
The Line shape has always been a troublemaker, years ago one of the engineers has explained me the reason (it is a programming bug) but I didn't know about this problem with timing. I have learned to avoid that line shape whenever possible and replace it by a rectangle with one very small height. Sorry that I didn't catch that particular problem before. If I have some time tomorrow I will explore the color issue as well. For sure I would create another object style for those line shapes.
