Download Error (Even after OS reinstall!)

Hey,

Since the latest update to AAM it seems i cannot download and use adobe applications. Its really frustating, I have even tried a remote session with technical support and they went on to blame me for using Windows. Perfect.

I have tried reinstalling windows, drivers etc from the basic level, after this i went ahead and installed AAM after this occured it seemed to corrupt.

I just want this fixed..Yes ive used the repair tool and the uninstall tool which has been put in a FAQ, it simply wont work.

Your input on this matter would be most greatful.

Support has now advised me to download a trial version of the CS6 Master Suite

I have been told to update the applications i will need to run AAM (even thought i cannot at this moment.)

Just to recap the steps i have taken.

OOBEE folder has been renamed to OOBEE.old
I have deleted the old database for the AAM
I have uninstall AAM via the CS uninstall tool
I have reinstalled AAM 3 times with the same error from the link provided with the error report.
I have downloaded the master suite as advised by customer support, I am still getting downloader failed when launching the updates system.

Hi Jeff, #0183913457 and 0183920177

I have done what others have requested which is reinstall AAM, Ran CCleaner and installed and still got the error. Its been like this since the latest update for AAM for updating via AAM. I am now installing the trial version of CS suite and shall see if updates work thought this if not then its back to the drawing board.

Hi Jeff, I am responding back to the tickets, I am however also downloading the trial with the hopes that updates will be deployed with a seprate download option like they was in the past.

I shall keep you informed if anything changes but it seems this is a common problem which i simply cannot resolve, We have tried different bit versions, software from other download points and disabling content to try and gain access with all results being the same about a corrupt downloader.

Hopefully this is resloved so others do not have the same issues, anyone whom does have this error should be aware that downloading the trial seperately of the CS Master Suite does NOT include CS6 Encore.

Hi Jeff, I am currently waiting for the files to be extracted, its saying extracting (this may take a while), its been around 60 minutes now and still the files havent been extracted completely.

It may be that the download was corrupted or saved to a location you may not have sufficient write access too. As an alternative you can follow the steps listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to initiate a direct download.

Hi Jeff,

Just wanted to provide an update, The installer via the trial has gone thought but the update proccess is via AAM (which is corrupt), Is there a way to deploy the updates manually?

I was also wondering how i can download Muse without going thought AAM (as it fails to install.) I was wondering if there is a direct download for muse from creative cloud without going thought AAM as AAM is corrupt.

You can download the trial for Muse from https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=muse&loc=en_us. But you will need to utilize the Adobe Download Assistant to download your software.

It appears you are facing multiple corruption issues related to downloading files. Would it be possible to try your computer on an alternate Internet connection to see if you have greater success?

Hey Jeff, The internet connection is fine, its a stable and very fast service. It seems i can run the older version of the adobe application manager (updater) but the newest one simply wont work on my machine.

The update for AAM is 55mbs and its these files which are courrupt. i have tried multiple times to download them without success. in browser, outside of browser, via updater etc. The Adobe Download Assistant worked fine thought its now just apply updates for Adobe Products which is going to be a problem.

Are the Engineers on AAM aware of these issues in relation to the AAM showing as corrupt? it seems to be a common issue.

For most users removing all Adobe Creative Software and running the CS Cleaner Tool usually resolves this difficulty. The key is making sure that all applications requiring AAM are removed prior to ensuring AAM itself is removed. It seems like you have already performed these steps according to your case history.

Yes around 60+ times... I have tried different configs and it simply doesnt like the latest AAM update. The one before works fine, the current and new AAM update is broken. Its corrupt and ive used the removal tool alot, tried different hardware, tried different internet connections all saying the same thing. Its really annoying and i just want the problem to be resolved.

I have provided a full log file in the ticket and had the response that i should contact/consult the live chat option. I have also noticed a new thread with the same issue but on Mac based systems.

I have tried both Trow and Jeffs solutions to no avail (the logs above show that the error is the ablility to read updates preferences. (so maybe its a pref file that needs updating?)
