Hi. I just installed DW 2021 on Win 10 and am familiarizing myself with the basic interface. I used the "Find" feature once. After that the "Find" dialog box does not display and I cannot do a new find. Any idea what this is?

Thanks.

When you say you have used it before, is it possible it is dragged somewhere else or has become a sub-area of another part of DW? In the top right there are saved workspaces which define the layout. You can click to Reset the workspace and that will re-arrange all windows on your screen back to their default position. Then find will be back where it started if it was potentially moved.

Did you restart your computer after installing DW 2021?

Did you define a local site folder for your project?

Ctrl + F = Find in current open document.

    Ctrl + Shift + F = Find & Replace panel.

    Failing that, try Restore Preferences.

Hi Nancy. Thank you for your response. Yes, I did perform a restart after installation (and did so again after reading your message). When you ask if I defined a local site folder, if you mean did I invoke "Site > New Site" to create DW recognition of the HTML files I have on my PC for the various websites I manage, yes I did. And the short keys for bringing up the Find function don't work. So I tried the Restore Preferences procedure described at the link you showed and it did not help. I should add that I'm able to bring up the Find and Replace dialog box and can set it to simply do a find. But I'm uncomforatble using this as a workaround as if I'm not careful I could inadvertantly replace targets I don't mean to change. Any other thoughts?

    Thank you.

Hi Ben. That was it. I have my workspace set up with the Properties window at the bottom of the screen, but not docked. I moved it and there was that sneakly little Find dialog box, hiding just beneath. I docked the Properties window and now the Find dialog sits just above it.

Thank you all for your help. Good community!
