@SuJoshi what does changing that value do in registry. We have GP that controls IE policy. Is that the only workaround is there a long term fix coming to resolve this issue?

Please do not worry, the engineering team is working on it and hopefully, a patch will be released very soon which can be used for the deployment.

Security Zones: Use only machine settings | Windows security encyclopedia (windows-security.org)
Applies security zone information to all users of the same computer. A security zone is a group of Web sites with the same security level. If you enable this policy changes that the user makes to a security zone will apply to all users of that computer. If you disable this policy or do not configure it users of the same computer can establish their own security zone settings. This policy is intended to ensure that security zone settings apply uniformly to the same computer and do not vary from user to user. Also see the "Security zones: Do not allow users to change policies" policy.
The Key represents a Group Policy. Means, you could leave the key, it will be rewriten bei the Client side Group Policy refresh. Clients usualy refresh Group Policy every 90 minutes anyway.

Hi Everyone.
The issue with CCD installation failing when Security_HKLM_only is set should now be resolved. The fix is now available and any new console package built from the console shouldn't exhibit the issue.

So the impications are "If you disable this policy or do not configure it users of the same computer can establish their own security zone settings."
This does not seem to be a policy that should be disabled, even if the GPO changes it back in 90 minutes or whatever the enterprise policy refresh setting are set to.
