Assign a shape to a path

Hello, just wondering if this is possible in illustrator

Id like to make the line that's next to 'A' follow any kind of vector path such as 'B' but importantly it must always stay at the same size and orientation, centred to the line with equidistant spacing...I've mocked up roughly how id like it to follow the path on 'B' but the desired outcome is obviously that it does it at precise increments along any path shape. I have had a look at the pattern tool but it stretches, flips and bends the line 'A' so maybe there is another way?

I know the calligraphy tool will do something similar, but I'm after this line effect ideally. THANKS XX

If you wish to use a Blend, then:

1) If you wish to have all the lines parallel, click Align to Page rather than Path,

2) If you wish equidistant lines (along the actual path, not necessarily perpendicularly from line to line), you may need to Direct Select the spine path (you can do that within the Blend Group to see it live), then Object>Path>Add Anchor Points enough times to have enough path segments, you can see when there is no longer any change, no need to overdo it, you can use Ctrl/Cmd+Z to Undo if you do (overdo).

Thanks everyone! basically, I didn't know you could 'Object / Blend / Replace Spine' so now I'm really happy and you can all sleep well tonight

Summer where I am

We are swaying between summer and autumn here, and if we get a repetition from last year, we shall be swaying between autumn and spring until March or April when winter may set in.

As i understand you want to create this.

I use this blend tool . As you can see in Blend Option Panel you can change orientation lines to path. Also you can change spacing of the lines.

1.Draw two lines and blend them with blend tool

2. then draw letter B (or any other Letter) with Pen Curvature or any other tool. Do not use type tool

3 Select Blend lines and letter , then use Replace Spine from Object->Blend->Replace Spine, which will place lines according your letter.
