Create a vector watercolor

Hi

I'd like to an create image that looks like watercolour but the image is made up of small vector shapes.

Is there a function in illustrator that does this - or is it done by the artist?

I can't upload an Ai file to this forum, so I've put a sample Ai file of what I'm talking about in Dropbox.

Thanks

Debra

You will want to open the Image Trace Panel and change the settings to get the result you want

That file looks like it was created using Image Trace settings on a photo or scan.

When I try image trace, it turns the image into black and white and one large shape. The small shapes that create the watercolour are lost.

In the Brushes panel you can find some watercolor brushes in the Artistic library.

Thanks Ton - I am not an experienced use - so it may be that I don't understand the process.

But, when I use a watercolour brush, to, for example, create a line - it remains one line - not a series of shapes.
