Hi y'all, my Adobe Illustrator is only showing the "Illustrator 2020" savable version when I have the recent 28.1 2023 version. I tried uninstalling/installing the app but does not correct the version. Anyone has any idea why it's happening and how it can be fixed? Thanks in advance 🙂

There's nothing to be fixed. 2020 compatible is what all recent versions show.

Thanks for the response Doug! So my coworker wants me to save the file as a 2022 version since he has that version. Would I have to uninstall my 2023 version and install 2022 to save the file?

Are they unable to open files you have saved?

Are you using any functions that are not present in version 2022?
If so, you both need to be careful. The affected objects could get expanded by accident and then their full flexibility is gone.

Hi @emikohigman,
Thank you for reaching out. If your coworkers are using Illustrator 2022, they should be able to open files saved in Illustrator 2023/2024 without any issues. Illustrator is designed to maintain backward compatibility, allowing users to open files created in newer versions.
You don't need to uninstall your Illustrator 2023/2024 version. Simply save the file in Illustrator 2023/2024 format and share it with your coworkers. They should be able to open it in Illustrator 2022 without any problems.
If, for any reason, your coworker encounters difficulties opening the file, they can inform you of the specific issues, and you can share it with us here for further investigation. There's usually no need to revert to an older version of Illustrator for simple file sharing between versions unless they are using any new features that didn't exist in the older one.
Best,
