InDesign Share for Review links not working

Community Beginner ,
Oct 01, 2025 Oct 01, 2025

Anyone else having issue with InDesign review links not working today? I have sent out a few and reviewers are getting this message. Other programs seem to be working fine.

This is fixed. But why does the review site show the number of spreads instead of pages? My document has 16 pages, laid out as spreads, and the review site shows 9 total which is 1 cover, 1 back, and 7 interior spreads. This is very confusing for my client, which is expecting to see 16 as the total.

@hot_ham_water , this problem is not recent. I have experienced it all the time since the beginning of the Share for Review function. The system is not able to see the difference between a page and a spread. Maybe we should vote for this feature request here: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/47249537-sp...

We really appreciate that this is mostly fixed, but what has been more frustating @Anubhav M is a general lack of update and a flag this was indeed an Adobe issue (early on). As folks have said, you could have posted a message on our collective Cloud environments or send out a blanket notice email to all users. What instead has happened is countless many have spent hours and hours trying to resolve an issue that was out of their control from the get-go? Even a flag to say S4R is going to undergo an update and this, this and that are changing, would be welcomed.

Let's learn from this one for next time Adobe?

I think it would be great to receive some kind of notice of an update! The notice could also include a button or link to report any issues related to the update.

Totally with you on this, Mattheaus! Adobe support always seems to have users do the troubleshooting for them instead of tackling the problem directly. And honestly, suggesting a cloud issue could be local is pretty absurd.

@Anubhav M it seems to be working now, which is a relief.  I am missing the scroll bar though (scrolling with the mouse wheel does not work as expected when you keep the page navigation bar docked). And still not happy with the navigation bar hoovering over the document. It should not cover any part of the design.

I've been happily sharing review links from InDesign and Illustrator for over a month and all of a sudden today, I am getting the below message on my review links in two different browsers. Any ideas why this might be happening?

Error 404: Asset not found

This is happening to us too. We use review links to send product proofs to clients and nobody can access them anymore. The links either ask to sign into an adobe account, show the error 404 or only half load with no backround and only the first page of the document. Its very frustrating. Ive tried updating all apps and trying different browsers to open them but nothing is working. It must be an adobe issue. If anyone has found a fix please let me know.

Hello @Sarah Bundy24253010otvx,

The team has resolved this issue in the back end, and the links should now work again.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or require assistance. We'd be happy to help.

I have had the same issues today, it was working previously. This is detrimental for our business when we often have over 15 review links going out to different areas of the business per week. Please can this be fixed asap.

@Anubhav M , you said in this thread (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/text-can-no-longer-be-highlighted-in-share-for-r...) that you were checking with the product team on the issues. Has the product team said anything? I know I'm not the only one essentially dead in the water right now. When can we, the paying customers, expect a fix?

Thanks for responding Anubhav,

I've cleared my browser cache however its giving me the same issue still. The problem is also on the side of my clients - they are not able to view the review links either. Is there a way to escalate this problem to have it solved? The client is getting understandably frustrated.
