P: Edit in Photoshop sends it to the Photoshop Beta, not 2023. No option to choose.

Hoping for some help here. I am on a PC and have the latest versions of Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. I wanted to download and try the new Photoshop Beta so I downloaded it from the Adobe Creative Cloud and it installed fine. BUT - when I use Lightroom and choose EDIT IN - ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 2023 it opens the BETA version. It does not give me an option to choose WHICH Photoshop version I want to use. Uninstalling the Beta basically kills the ability to send an image from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop at all and the only way to get things back is to uninstall the beta and then uninstall Photoshop CC 2023 THEN reinstall Photoshop. I'd love to play with the beta and be able to choose which version of Photoshop I want to use when sending images from Lightroom Classic.

I've seen some videos where the option to select which version of photoshop you want to use is selectable from a dropdown menu but this was on a Mac and not a PC. Any help is appreciated!

Uninstall the Photoshop beta and uninstall/reinstall everything else.

This is why you don't use beta software unless you are prepared to have things go haywire.

@displaced7 Unfortunately you don't say anything about your operating system.

If you are on a Windows machine try the following:

Make sure yxou have installed Lightroom 12.5

Deinstall all Photoshop versions you have installed.

Reinstall the latest version of Photoshop Beta first.

After this install Photoshop 2023.

Then you should choose in the LR preferences which Photoshop version is to be used if you used the "Edit in Photoshop..." function.

This has been work for me.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz Photo

That doesn't work.  Worse, when I updated the apps a few minutes ago, Lr deleted the option of 2023 altogether, leaving 2022 and 2024, neither of which I want to edit anything in.

Basically this is making Lr unusable.

When will this be fixed??!!!  It's SEPTEMBER!!

I just updated everything praying that this was resolved.  Now Lr only gives me the option of opening in 2022 or 2024, NOT 2023 which is what I use.  This is ridiculous!

THere is a cheat that can be used temporarily...

See this video by Anthony Moriganti, it explains how to do it. I did it and it works.

Mine is doing the opposite. I have it set to open in Beta and it says Beta but it opens in Photoshop. Will this be fixed soon?

That seems to work.  Very annoying that Adobe released the Beta without ensuring it wouldn't affect other software.  Worse, they haven't fixed it over many months.

Try closing PS, then open PS 2023. Then when you send a photo to PS from LR, it should open in PS 2023. This is the work around I use.

'Edit in' is opening the wrong Photoshop.  I have Ps 2023 and Beta installed.  Prior to installing the Beta, it opened correctly.  Now it keeps opening the Beta, which does not have any of my plugins or actions (and even if they were compatible, it would take hours to export/install/etc.).

How do I fix this?  I have the latest Lr Classic installed, I have the preferences set to open Ps 2023, but that did not change anything.

So it looks like this has finaly been resolved in the latest Lightroom update.
