The results in PS sometimes are better, but so far I haven't found a way to pick from 3 different results in PS, only for generative fill! That still needs to be introduced.
The general rule seems to be pretty much:
- denoise, but otherwise best don't touch the image before using AI remove.
- try to get everything that belongs to the item you want to remove. Shadow, glare, blur. Otherwise it'll think you want to correct or change the item for a better fitting one, because it's "Aura" is still there.
I hope that's correct, otherwise I'll remove my posting.

Just trying to simplify. In case that condenses the issue, I can just reply that in the future, in case noone else is available.

I tried batch removal but all files were skipped.

That's a poorly written, confusing message. When you copy Generative Remove settings to other photos, the settings must be updated (recomputed), but LR doesn't do that automatically in this "early access" (beta) feature. So go to each target photo where you copied the results, open the Remove panel, and click Update All.

I removed a railing on a boat that I was in when I took a picture of an island with a lighthouse. The blue sky had a textured pattern everywhere that the railing was in the sky. The land (island) and water were fine. I tried to remove the textured area to no avail.

There are two possible causes of this:
- Did you apply Remove on top of a Sky mask? If so, do the menu command Settings > Update AI Settings. (In general, Adobe wants you to apply Remove first, then masking.)
- Sometimes Remove's replacements don't quite match the surrounding sky or other uniform backgrounds. You can try making the selections around the railing much larger to include larger sections of the sky, and/or you can make the selections raggedy (don't use Object Aware). See these two examples:

Trying to use the generative ai remove tool to remove a road (off in the distance) surrounded by green hills. I highlight the road, click apply, and the ai gives me three other road options that I could replace it with......
Face palm.
ai needs to take it's cues from the surrounding areas, not the areas selected to be removed!

Lightroom directed me here to provide feedback for the remove ai. So I assumed this was were we left feedback regarding the remove ai. I don't need assistance.

Your comment suggested you weren't aware of the tips necessary to get Remove to actually remove an object rather than replace it with something similar. But if you used those techniques and they didn't help remove the object, then posting a full-resolution JPEG exported from the unmodified photo will help Adobe understand where the tool is falling down.

I don't agree with your order for editing. I'd think that crop would be first.

Adobe recommends that Remove be applied before cropping (see their recommended order of edits in the first post). The Remove tool looks at all the pixels of the uncropped photo, so if you select just the part of an object visible in the crop and leave parts of it unselected in the uncropped portion, Remove will generate a replacement that best matches the unselected bits. This is one of the common causes of the complaint, it "replaces instead of removes". See this article for a more thorough explanation with examples:

In general I do NOT want to use generative AI. I prefer content aware. Then it is using pixels that I created, not ones from someone else's photo.

Not intuitive or simple and doesn't work very well if at all. Sosemwhat confusing. Photoshop removal tool is much easier and simpler to use. I'd give this app a D-.

Sorry John
Not a very efficient program. Appears to be in the earl design stage with way too many flaws. As referenced, the photoshop erase tool is way more efficient and simpler to use to remove unwanted items. Back to the drawing board!

Again WAY TOO COMPLICATED!!! Looks like Adobe rushed to make the tool available with too many bugs. Until Adobe is able to simplify its utility to a simple one step click I will stick with, and recommend, the photo shop eraser tool.
