P: Color space option is missing in Export as Tiff

Community Beginner ,
Oct 17, 2023 Oct 17, 2023

Hi,

This might be a dumb question, but I just tried to export some photos as 16-bit TIFs in the ProPhoto RGB colorspace, but when I switch from JPG -> TIF in the export panel, Lightroom doesn't give you the option to select a color space. Poking at the TIFs exported by default, it seems like Lightroom just exports them in Adobe RGB.

Am I missing something or is there a way to specify the color space of an exported TIF?

Thanks!

Loren

Greetings all,

Updates for the Adobe Photography Products have been released.  The December 2023 updates contain an update for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for your patience.

Cordialement.

It appears the only way to get a high-bit Tiff file in ProPhoto is right now to use the Edit in PS option, which will create a 32-bit ProPhoto Tiff in the Photoshop space. If your subscription includes Photoshop, that is the current workaround.

Ah, thanks! Unfortunately I don't, but I could upgrade. Is this a one-photo-at-a-time kind of deal? Was hoping to bulk export a set.

I heard back from the Dev on this and it turns out this is a bug. I gave you the workaround above until we get it fixed. Thanks for your report.

I updated LR and now I can choose ProPhotoRGB but the exported picture still has Adobe RGB as embedded profile.

@Rikk Flohr: Photography do you see the same behaviour?

Same behaviour here, it seems like exported TIFFs are always in Adobe RGB regardless of the profile selection. Just tested it in Lightroom v. 20240214-0910-27200e9 (Feb 14 2024).
