Hello,

I am reaching out because Lightroom crashes on my computer on start up. I have already Lightroom classic and Photoshop installed and working fine but I cannot get Lightroom to run.

The error I get is more or less (translated from french) the following :

Win32 API error 126 (The specified module is not found) when calling ::LoadLibrary from getCFunction

What I already tried :

- Uninstall + Reinstall (even older versions)

- Uninstall + Reinstall Microsoft Visual Studio all versions

- Try to select different GPU drivers

I might also tell you that I have an AMD GPU (RX 6700) with its latest drivers.

I also do not have any windows update to install, I am up to date.

Could someone help me please ?

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s? Microsoft’s?

I found your crash report. It looks like this is the failure mode you are seeing. Have you tried this solution: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/unable-to-launch-adobe-applications-on-windows---error-vc...

A bug is filed with the team. We will have to wait for fix to be released. I will add an additional note to the internal bug report.

@Nahind278654428lri

FYI, I had issues with the video driver crashing Lr when running export. I also have the AMD 6700 chipset.

Here is the thread on it: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-ecosystem-cloud-based-discussions/export-crashes-lrd/m-p/13...

Good luck,

Hey, thanks @Timothy.Spear, but I have checked the "issue monitor" on the AMD software but it did not work for me. Do you have Adobe lightroom (not the classic but the cloud version) working on your machine ? On mine, Lightroom classic works perfectly but I cannot even launch Adobe Lightroom.

Yes, I have LrD installed. I do NOT have Classic installed; I wicthed completely to the cloud over a year ago.

In the short term, a majority of the functionality of Lr is also available via the web interface.

Other random thoughts:

1. Have you deleted all LrD preference files?

2. Win32 error loading a module sugests something failed to install or register correctly. Have you tried starting LrD as administrator?

3. Have you looked into the compatibility mode?

Note: all of these could be really fruitless and a pin to unwind. Therefore, if not in a super hurry, I would give @Rikk Flohr: Photography a few days to see if Adobe can provide a suggestion.

One of our engineers pointed this doc out. Though for Lightroom Classic, it might be worth trying in your situation: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/win32-api-error-126-and-then-i-can-t-se...

Hi, i'm having the same issue. Unable to have the application started. The splash screen appear and once the interface load, everything shutdown automatically. I've tried all other solutions suggested here and none have work so far.
