P: Lightroom Desktop Keeps saying 'Unable to Connect to Network'

Trying to switch to Lightroom CC but I keep getting 'Unable to Connect to Network' in sync status. If I restart the application it might work for 50-60 photos and then returns to this error message. I'm trying to sync ~12K mobile photos before another 40K RAW images so obviously need to be able to let this run in the background and over night. Have tried restarting the computer as well to no luck.

Any other suggestions on what I can try?

On the desktop version of Lightroom CC, I cannot access my photos due to the cloud saying it is "unable to connect to the internet". I have no antivirus or firewall and this is relatively new. I can see all pictures on my mobile devices and the web client. Please fix this issue. I am running Mac OS 11.5.2 and lightroom CC Ver 4.3.

Adobe cannot 'fix this issue', because it is most likely something on your computer. Something is blocking Lightroom from connecting.

@Johan_Elzenga you are absolutely right! I was being dumb, definite user error on my part. Had to designate a new file output location! Thanks!

After installing lightroom 4.4 on my Mac Mini M1 I have problems keeping the connection to the cloud. When i close the program and restart there is no connection to the cloud. If i reset preferences - shift/option - then everything is normal again.

If I don't reset the preferences I see no pictures. Nothing is working.

Is there af fix?

Best Regards

Pelle

How about sharing how you fixed it the first time? It might help some people, including me!

Long story short...

I called service desk, first supporter had no idea and booked a time with a senior supporter. This actually resulted in getting the problem fixed (not sure what he did), but unfortunately only for a rather short time.

So now I'm using the the classic version that I have downloaded on my computer.

I wish that I could share a step-by-step guide. I also wish that Adobe would perhaps look more into this issue, it seems that I'm not the only one struggling.

Okay I've fixed it on my Mac! Basically, although I'd previously turned my Virus Checker off (BitDefender), it was still protecting my home folder. I disabled the 'safe files' option completely and turned the virus checker back on - so still safe from the web... and Lightroom now runs fine.
In a nutshell, do you have something stopping access to your home folder - turn it off and see if it works!

Same issue for me.  Running Adobe Lightroom CC.  All other apps working fine. But every time I try to open Lightroom CC, I get a can't connect to server error.  Obviously I've checked and my network connections are perfect , so that is clearly not the issue.  Any help woud be apprecaited.

Ive just updated to LR 5 on my Windows 10 PC.

Its tying to sync around 25,000 images, but only does about 100 and then says i have no internet connection. I have to re start the program and then it starts syning again, for a while, then stops with the above errror.

There is nothing wrong with my internet connection (i have a steasdy 50MB/s download speed).

This whole ecosystem seems to be very poor and problmatic.

Anyone know whats going on?

Ok, so it seems if i have LR only store Smart Previews and not the original files its working fine (at the moment).

Sooo, how can i get my original files without the above happeing?

The reson its syncing so many files is i hardly ever use the PC verison, mostly i use my ipad pro, so it hasnt been used for a while. I cant see me using it much if this is what i have to experience.

I imported about 200 pictures from a photo shoot today from the camera SD card. After the import I developed and made edits to those pictures. The pictures are in the local storage but they will not synced to the cloud. It seems to think I have no network connection. I have restarted the computer many times and have also logged out and logged in.

Any suggestions?

Lightroom CC (5.1) does not connect to the internet. Even if I have a working internet connection it says "no network". I am using MacOS 11.6 on an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017).

Unfortionally all the given steps didn't solve the problem. I am only having this connectivity issue while using Lightroom CC. All the other Creative Cloud programs are working perfectly.

I'm running windows 11 home v21H2 and LR CC 5.1

I loaded several images into LR and it was syncing/connecting to the cloud without issue.  Now when i open LR it pauses syncing immediately and displays a "no network connection" error. I have a working internet connection on my computer.  I've seen this reported as an issue with LR in the past, but thought it had been resolved?

Lightroom was updated on my Mac. I can't see the version becuase it never loads to the point I can check that. The application starts to load to the point I can see the Lightroom interface, but immediately a window pops up that says "Can't connect to the server. Lightroom is having trouble connecting to the server. Please try again later." My options are Sign Out or OK. When I click OK the app just closes. My Creative Cloud shows that the Lightroom app is up to date.Lightroom01.jpgexpand imageLightroom02.jpgexpand image

Lightroom still functions for me, its just that I cannot access any photos from the cloud. This started recently, apparantly for no reason. I also cannot use the search function. This problem is annoying, since I use eithernet but I will continue to use the program.

I had this problem some time ago. For me there was a specific cause in that the Pictures folder on my mac was read only so that Lightroom was unable to write it's library file there. Once I gave Lightroom permissin to write there the issue was solved. It would be nice if one could specify the location of this file but it seems you can't. Also this error message can be very misleading as for me had nothing to do with network problems.
