P: Support for keyword and metadata editing

Contributor ,

I'd really, really like to be able to do keywording on my iPad in the LR mobile app. Could save me a lot of Google-time back at the desktop trying to figure just where I was standing for that shot, and what's the name of that building, mountain, river, village etc, etc

Thank you! This looks perfect for my needs (I've looked at PhotoSmith but that's a non-starter for me as I don't use Apple hardware), trialling it now and within 10 minutes have nearly 3000 photos synced and up on my phone. Looking forward to 30 days of testing this... looks like my Lightroom CC trial is dead in the water for now.

I like Mylio too, but they don't have keyboard shortcuts for keywording. I'm a keyboard shortcut fan. LR ticks all my boxes for that at this stage (Adobe, you did this well.) Until Mylio supports keyboard shortcuts for entering keywords & moving prev/next photo while tagging, I'm firmly on the LR boat.

robgendreau: although at first glance Mylio seemed promising, I can't get it to consistently sync people keywords with Lightroom... if you can, please you point me to any forums you know of for further help on this?

I'd post over in the Mac forum at DPReview.com or macrumors.com. Mylio doesn't have a support forum; I'd suggest to complaining to them about that as some have done so they'll add one.

It would be great to have a keyword tagging option on LR Mobile. We can flag, we can rate, we can even adjust. Why can't we keyword? How many train journeys have we been on or just sitting on the sofa listening to Spotify when we can pass that time doing some basic metadata maintenance on our iPad (so much more intuitive than going to the desktop or laptop) that synced back. I'd even put that higher on my wish list than RAW support for iPad Pro because the workaround for that is the initial card upload when you return to the studio. If keyword tagging did come in LR Mobile I think it would also be good have it on a multiple select basis rather than image by image.

I was about to subscribe to CC after trialling Lightroom mobile. But captioning is a critical feature for me. Even if we can't edit it, at least to read it is important. I will look elsewhere now. A smaller company is likely to be more responsive.

I would love to be able to access Title and Caption metadata in Lightroom Mobile.

I am an artist, and I keep a database of paintings in my Lightroom catalog.  This allows me to quickly and easily keep track of work and tag paintings with information about when and where the painting was made, what the dimensions are, the price, etc.  I also use the Title metadata field to store the title of the painting.

When I am out and about and I want to show someone my work, the easiest way is usually to whip out my iPad and load up Lightroom Mobile.  It is embarrassing when someone wants to know the price or another detail about the piece which I keep track of in Lightroom, and I can't answer using the Mobile app.

This is frustrating to me because Lightroom Mobile is soooo close to being the perfect, easy to use, carry everywhere, and always up to date portfolio app, but I am reluctant to use it because I cannot get access to the key information I keep in the Title and Caption metadata fields.

Thank you,
Blake.

These requests and pleas to add keywording capability to Lightroom Mobile  have been coming in from users for over two years.
And the most disappointing and frustrating thing is the  utter arrogance of the company that we all make rich with our subscriptions that is not even willing to acknowledge  that we exist.

Yep, Adobe is so visually oriented that they appear to be deaf to a good idea. Hey, Adobe -- keywords are TEXT! Text was what ENIAC ran on with vacuum tubes in 1946. Wake up!

Just got the app all well but just found that the keywords are not included. The mobile app is part mobile, part missing and part only able to be managed when back at the old PC. Perhaps there is no room on the cloud? Needs a bit of cumulus nimbus to help with the cirrus logic perhaps?

As all of you I have been eagerly and impatiantly waiting for the possibility to search and ideally also edit Keywords in Ligtroom mobile.  Today I noticed a new beta feature in the web gallery Interface of my Lighroom mobile (i.e. when accessing my synced albums through the web browser, not he app).  I tried it for keywords and was dissapinted to find it does not search Keywords.  However it woks though image detection and works wonderfull to search for content such as "tree", "sea", "blonde", "faces"  "dog"etc.

Fantastic, however how on earth can Adobe prioritize this fancy feature before providing basic text saearch???

Adding my voice to the cacophony. Adobe please add this basic ability. You know if you won't listen to your customers eventually another developer will. Already looks t what Apple has done with FCPX for video and workflow with metadata. You're falling behind Adobe, pandering to the instagram crowd instead of professionals. Time to wake up, or we will leave you at the first opportunity.

I love keywords on the desktop and would love them even more that Lightroom Mobile is getting so powerful on the iPad Pro. I'd love to be able to assign and also search for keywords on mobile. This would help make perusing large catalogs so much faster.

It would be helpful to be able to add or edit keywords/tags to photos in the Lightroom mobile apps. I am often taking photos with a camera and moving those to an iPad. While I can sort thru photos, pick keepers and mark others for deletes, I have to wait until I get home to add tags. Will we see this feature added soon?

I would be extremely happy if I could search for a keyword to find my pictures on the iPhone !!!!!!
This is a basic function of any picture database

Keywords and Captioning are severely needed on mobile. And please make it easier than in the desktop app!

Does anyone at Adobe read these and if so could they please update us as to any plans to add key wording to their app - useless to use on tablets without - has anyone found a viable alternative?

I am on the brink of purchasing a new MacBook Pro (next month) or an iPad Pro.  I'd go with a iPad if I could use key wording etc on it

I love my IPad Pro but am really disappointed that Lightroom is not more functional on it. Ironically we are just picking up a new laptop today so I can work on Lightroom while we are traveling. So much for Adobe advertising on the Apple stage how much the iPad Pro integrated with their products.
