P: Support for keyword and metadata editing

Contributor ,

I'd really, really like to be able to do keywording on my iPad in the LR mobile app. Could save me a lot of Google-time back at the desktop trying to figure just where I was standing for that shot, and what's the name of that building, mountain, river, village etc, etc

I hope this comes soon, I bought a new iPad just to use Lightroom Mobile to do this.   Then I found out it doesn't do this...

How can adobe explain why keywording (a few words added to a picture) is absent when you can do all the complicated stuff like local filters etc?? This is really mind blowing.....

Many of us years ago even asked Bridge to give us a mobile app that ONLY added metadata, but apparently Adobe doesn't think enough of us want to do that, while everyone wants to add cool filter effects to their images. I think that's thinking about the feature backwards. Build the better mousetrap, the people will come—make keywording more accessible any time by using the Cloud and mobile apps to do it, and more people will make better use of it.

And now that it goes along with contributing to Adobe Stock, it makes sense for it to get much higher priority. Maybe it IS on their radar. So far, we've only had hope.

My holy grail is mobile presentation. I want all my selects available anywhere, and to be able to present them (usually on a big screen TV via AirPlay). To make this work, you need the ability to FIND, FILTER, and SELECT the images that meet your criteria and are buried in 10's of thousands of images stored in the cloud.

When I started to work with LR Mobile, I was excited - clearly this is Best in Class software and has much of what is needed: Organize & sort by collection; filter by Rating, Flag, Likes or Comments. So far, so great.

It also has a basket of cool but crazy editing powers, but I mean really - are there are lot of users utilizing tone curves, vignetting, split toning, and lens corrections while editing on their iPhone? OK, maybe on your iPad, but probably this would still be done best at a desktop.

But the need for flexible and powerful mobile presentation is real and growing. Being able to search on keywords is absolutely crucial.

I am trying to transition entirely to LR and this is my sole impediment. Right now, I have to export selects to Apple Photos because it has this feature, and they really implement it right: Search for "Bridge" in iOS Photos and it returns all people with names containing Bridge, all locations that contain bridge, and anything key worded as bridge. (And the desktop version adds all images it has identified as containing a bridge - pretty amazing).

Been asking for this for a couple of years now.  The program's editing features keep getting better and are now very good.  Just wish they would listen to how many of us really want the ability to add and search on keywords that we apply.  Please add the ability to add keywords.  For me this is much more important to the AI method of automatically identifying keywords as done in programs like Google photos.

So for three years we have been asking for Keywords and for three years it has not been delivered. Will we have to wait for the next ice age for it to delivered? There must be a way to sync the keyword list with the cloud. we can export it, we can import it, so why can we not lightroom mobile it?

Is there any word on when keywords will be added to LR Mobile?
Please, please make it happen!

Thanks

Please allow keywording in LR Mobile. I even like to see keywords and collections broken out of LR and treated as a separate app. I'd like to see this on the Mac as well as iOS.

synced keywording to the main catalog is a feature that would make the Lightroom mobile app useful.

Apart from keywords I am really missing the possibility to add captures to the images. In fact, this is already possible in Lightroom mobile for iPhone. Very strange that it is not there in the iPad version ...
So I hope adding this feature to the iPad version is not too far in the future.

Yikes, this topic is 3 years old already?

Is there any word yet on whether this feature is still being considered, in development, canceled, ...? After all, it HAS been 3 years since this was being requested.

This feature - or rather, the lack thereof - has pushed many users to not using this app, or to using different apps for doing the same thing. It is a highly vital functionality for mobile use specifically: whether for filtering through photos to show specific ones (which you tend to do a lot with mobile), or when working through photos and doing some basic pre-editing and cataloguing when on the move after a shoot (adding keywords). These are things where the mobile app could be SO valuable for actually doing some work, but the key(word) (pun intended) functionality is missing for it to shine.

Follow this thread: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/12/lightroom-mobile-december-releases.html, apparently keywording is on the list and moving up. So hopefully we'll see it soon..
Our feedback has been heard by Adobe.

C'mon Adobe, enable KEYWORDS for mobile and web. It's so basic it's crazy that you haven't done it. Criminal almost. You charge monthly fee for LR and PS and decide to implement this unusable smart search feature on the web portal and NO SEARCH on mobile? Keywords are just a bunch of words associated with images. I think Justin Bieber could probably program keywords into Lightroom Mobile so what's the hold up?!?!?!?And FYI this should allow one to both search through existing keywords, but also to edit/add keywords to photos so that they can be saved into the catalog. That way people can label their photos regularly from their phone or web portal.
You have the money and know-how, DO IT or explain what type of existential issues you are having with this cause it's been years!!
