P: Lightroom Classic>Edit in PS: Long Delay+Erroneous Error Message opening Ps Beta 2024 25.0

I just recently updated Photoshop Beta to 2024 v25.0 on my Windows 11 machine.

Now when I try to open photos from LR 12.4 using the "edit in...", it hangs up for a time and then comes up saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2024 could not be launched."

When I hit "Ok" it then opens the file in Photoshop 2024.

This happens with every file, even if Photoshop 2024 is already up and running at the time.

This does not happen with 2023 v24.7.

Greetings all,

Lightroom Classic 12.5 released this evening.  If used in conjunction with PS Beta 25.0 or later, this erroneous error message plus long open wait time should be mitigated. Please install LrC 12.5 and make certain that your Beta is up to date.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

When you click on "Edit in Photoshop" in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop (Beta) opens as usual, but instead of the image opening, Lightroom eventually reports that "Photoshop (Beta) could not be launched", and when you acknowledge that pop-up announcement, the file then opens in Photoshop (Beta). This happens on all my devices and in all situations.

The latest version of Lighroom / Photoshop wont let the file open.

From Lightroom if I select edit image in Photoshop 2023

Photoshop starts up and opens but does not load the file.

But if I from Lightroom select edit image in Photoshop as a smart object it all works.

It used to work untill recently.

Latest versions of both programs.

I am opperating on Windows 11 using Lightroom Classic 12.4 and Photoshop V24.7.  I store photos using Lightroom and do my initial eding there.  Then when needed I choose "edit in Photoshop" and my file tranfers to and opens Photoshop, or at least iot did until today.    I made the mistake of accepting and downloading the new Photoshop Beta 25.0 and now I can no longer get my photos to transfer from Lightroom to Photoshop.   Is there a solutuion or perhaps I should simply uninstall the beta version although I would have liked to try it out.

I have exactly the same issue on Windows 11. PS app opens but the image is not loading. I walked away for a break then it opens up.

Photoshop 2023 works. Photoshop 2024 (Beta) doesn't work. I am looking forward to the bug fix.

@Rechelle Joye31443115m0k9 It can take some time to fix an error in the programming. You should be patient and wait for a solution. In the meantime you can go back to Beta version 24.7. Then all worls fine.

It's a known bug.
We may try waiting "somtime" and then when you get a pop up in LR press OK.
Otherwise go to Adobe Cloud and install the earlier 24.x version. Then it
works well.

LR Classic v12.4 (camera raw 15.4) has issues passing over imgs to photoshop beta in the newest update.

Sometimes after a few minutes LRC spits out an error and PSB opens the img. It is random tho.

Reinstalling PS, PSB, LRC did not solve the problem, tho LRC-PS (normal) started working again.

@CShubert When is the 25.1 update for Photoshop BETA being released? Any approximate date? I want to work on the new feature i.e. Expand Fill but due to this bug, I have downgraded to 24.7 Beta release.

Thank you,

Nayan Soni Photography

@Nayan Soni Photography  Adobe doesn't announce any release dates. He have to be patient and wait.

@CShubert If you roll back to 24.6 is it possible to remove/cancel the big yellow banner top right that pops up telling me to update to the latest beta version? It covers some quite important info panels.
