P: As of Photoshop (v24.4.1) the curves adjustment layer is very laggy and unresponsive!!

As of the latest version of Photoshop (v24.4.1), the curves adjustment layer is very laggy and unresponsive -- especially when using a stylus. It's extremely frustrating. What happens is when I click to add a point on the 'graph' it's serverly delayed and doesn't add a point. Normally I can immedietly click and drag the point to where I need, but when I try this now nothing happens because it won't make the point. Then it finally makes the point and lags really far behind where I adjust it to be. Every time I try moving any points it's super laggy and terrible. It's not my computer either. I have a ridiculously good computer.

I've restarted Photoshop and my computer. No dice. This is a major issue and needs to be fixed.

Hello,
I have the exact same issues since the lasts updates with different panels : curves / levels for example. Saturations / Color balance layers too : every panels with sliders. I have some issues in liquify tool too.
I tried to reset PS pref : same.
I tried to reset everything (uninstall + delete all photoshop folders / pref files, user tmp files etc) : same.
I tried to downgrade with different nvidia drivers : same.

I downgraded PS to 24.3 : works perfectly.

Hi @Delkin525 ,

Sorry to hear about the lag.  Can you try disabling Preferences -> Performance -> (GPU) Advanced Settings... -> GPU Compositing?  That might help.

I'm having the same issue, and unfortunately, when I updated to 24.4, it wiped my preferences anyway, so I had to set all that back up again. But the problem Delkin mentioned was present even though I was at default preferences.

Ahh -- resetting my preferences and restoring them is a lot of work. I wish Adobe had an even easier way of backing up all preferences and settings to a single format. You have annoying things like keybinds that you canm't even load from within the program, you have to find the folder to put them in. It's so archaic.

That being said, why would my preferenes which haven't changed have any effect on the curves point lag from the reent update?

Hi @Delkin525 Try resetting your Photoshop preferences manually.

Note: Reinstalling does not automatically reset them so you could be installing over bad preference files. Also make sure you have any presets (workspaces, brushes, actions) saved before resetting.
