P: "New Window" of a document doesn't update anymore after the latest PS update

I constantly use a second window for opened documents (Window > Arrange > New Window), after the recent update (25.11) the second window doesn't seem to update properly. Usually it updates after each brush stroke (with some little delay), currently it doesn't update unless I click on the second window, hit Undo or change some layer visibility (the first video). The second video is from 24.7.4, the second window updates properly.

PS version 25.11.0, Windows 10 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7, 64Gb, 2080S. Use Graphic Processor, Multithread Compositing, GPU compositing are on. Tried to turn them off to.

Update your PS, I believe it's all sorted now 🙂

Can't wait until this is fixed! I depend on having that second window while doing pixel art. Navigator doesn't scale properly with pixels and I can't stand the outline of the window. Just piling on to say please update this! Thanks!

Yeah I tested it after the latest update as well, and it seems to work just as before now. Nice one!

Oops, I meant 25.12.0

Issue looks to be fixed as of update 25.10.0

I'd like to know too. This bug is over a month old and nothing has been done yet it seems. If anyone knows the web space dedicated to the state of bugs I'd love to know. Blender has this and it's very useful to stay up to date on bug status.

I agree that the navigator is not a viable solution or workaround. I always have my second window flipped horizontally to check illustration perspective and such, and this doesn't seem possible with the navigator (I may be missing something).

Can we get an ETA of when this bug will be fixed? I'm sure there must be a release schedule and I'd like to know when to expect a fix in for this. I'm working on a project with a deadline of a couple months that requires a lot of small detailing and not having a zoomed out preview is making life hard.

Using navigator is not a satisfactory solution to this as it floats on top always, has to be massive on screen and you can't crop the window to control which part of the image it's showing

I posted a workaround above. Its a bug, bugs happen, it will get fixed.

Any updates on this? This issue seemed to be tracked as a bug over 2 weeks ago but the issue still persists today.

Issue persists, support non-existent. Seems that they're implementing
plenty of garbage never wanted or asked for, but I'm watching functionality
slowly crumble.

Hope they fix this soon, it's such a needless bug

A second window of the same file no longer updates unless focus is changed to that window.

This is a serious problem for me, as I draw and paint in Photoshop, and I keep a second window of the same file open to the side (on a different monitor) so that I can see the whole image while I'm working zoomed-in on the main window. This is important so that I can keep track of the composition while working on details. This change means that I don't have a way of doing this, and so I will constantly have to zoom in and out, which is very disruptive to workflow. (And no, the little thumbnail in the Navigator is not adequate to this purpose.)

I have worked this way for more than a decade, and I suddenly found this morning that it no longer worked. Photoshop had updated itself a few days ago (which I never configured or agreed to, by the way -- it apparently just turned on auto-updates itself), and now this feature is broken.
