When is Adobe going to start catering to those of us that are not part of the Apple Cult?

The fact is, Apple iOS users also do not have full versions of Photoshop and Premiere Pro on iOS at this time.

The current version of Photoshop for iPad OS is still very feature-limited compared to the full Mac/Windows version. Photoshop for iPad OS has a lot more in common with the version of Photoshop that runs in a web browser. So you might be able to use Photoshop for the Web, which by the way is not supported in Apple Safari, but only in cross-platform Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome — no Apple advantage there.

There is no version of Premiere Pro for iOS. What Adobe offers in iOS is Premiere Rush, which is, again, a very basic video editing app. Premiere Rush is supported on macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android. So no Apple advantage there either.

When you mentioned Premiere Pro for iPad, were you by any chance actually thinking of Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve? Because feature-rich versions of both of those video editors were recently released, with a lot of hype, for iPad OS. So if one of those applications is what you want on Android, you want to talk to Apple or Blackmagic. But Adobe has not yet said anything about a full-featured Premiere Pro for iPad OS or Android.

As for why so many companies tilt toward iOS-first app releases, one big answer is $$$. Although Android has many more users (much higher market share), iOS historically has had much higher share of app revenue, more than making up for the fewer users. So it looks like some app developers decide to release first on the platform where they believe they’re more likely to get paid. I have no way of knowing whether that reasoning is true for Adobe, but that is the story that the numbers have been telling in the general app market.

Adobe is not strictly pro-Apple or anti-Android, because there have certainly been times when, for example, the Lightroom for Android app got features before their iOS version did. And again, Photoshop for the Web is better supported in Edge/Chrome than in the Apple web browser.
