Indeed, this is absolutely not “Photoshop on iPad” as stated and promised in the lead up to launch! You must quickly include the Pen tool to create paths as this is a basic essential of compositing! Please do this quickly. Thank you.
In Photoshop (desktop program), I use the pen tool to draw a path on a photo and then apply a layer mask to cut it out. It's the best and most precise way to cut out a photo. The apple pencil would make cutting out photos so much easier, if only the new Photoshop iPad App would incorporate these features.
Please add the Pen tool! Huge part of mine and a lot of peoples workflow! Also would be great to be able to start an edit on Lightroom mobile and then transfer it to photoshop mobile. Do that and it would make this 10x better! Thanks Adobe!
Not only would it be useful to have the standard pen tool where a point is placed on the canvas where you lay your pen, but also perhaps a new type of pen tool that lets you freehand. It would allow you to just draw with the apple pencil or your finger like you would any pencil and it would create a path as you go along. A streamline adjustment feature would be helpful too, especially with this one, to smooth the paths that are drawn.
You'll have to be patient. I suspect its going to take a while considering how many demands I see for this, that, and the other. I personally don't need the Pen ahead of a lot of other stuff so consider that too, yours might not be the top priority.
I have been using Photoshop since 1992. I think the least we could
expect is that the tools that were available in that version of
Photoshop would be available 27 years later. Photoshop is fundamentally a
compositing tool, the Pen tool is the most essential part of this
process.
I just did a ton of updates to use Photoshop for iPad so I could finally use the Photoshop Path tool on my iPad. I was very disappointed that paths aren't yet supported, that was literally the only feature I was looking for. Please bring paths to Photoshop for iPad soon.
Yes please! Cutting paths is fundamental for compositing. Can't wait to be able to use the Pen Tool via the PS iPad app (hopefully sooner than later!).
All the selection tools in Photoshop for iPad are lacking. I’ve been using Photoshop professionally since version 2.0. At the very least the selection tools need to be able to select and deselect. Without these basic options this app is unusable.

Funny how they say you change one pixel on your ipad and it will update on your iCloud, too bad i cant change only one pixel at a time, retro game designers need pixel perfect control over their projects. Im having fun using this especially with apple pencil, but not having a pencil tool means im just goofing around instead of working, how hard can it be to insert a basic feature like this??? How about a quicky update, months between is unacceptable.
Please Adobe, I refer you to my request made last year for the one single most important part of Photoshop for compositors and that is THE PEN TOOL! Why are you ignoring a tool that has been around for the thirty years Photoshop has been around. I have been using Photoshop for 27 years, surely this is a simple thing to implement. Can you give me a reason why you are not doing this? I look forward to your reply.
The Sensei selection tools are not accurate enough to isolate objects from the background for my job. I was hoping that I could use the pen tool on Photoshop for iPad like I do with the desktop version to isolate and mask objects. The iPad version is useless to me without this functionality. When will this be added? By the way, the marketing material is misleading about the capabilities of the mobile version. I assumed that most of the functionality and filters would be there based on what I see on the Adobe ads and website..
I'm an automotive industrial designer. Sketching and blockin in pathed masks via Wacom desktop psd is my workflow. Just bought an iPad to take this on the road, only to find out there is no pen tool! It boggles the mind that tons of users have been asking for this since 2019 whith not even a reply from Adobe.
