I just bought a new gaming laptop 3days ago and Photoshop Cs6 keeps crashing. The system specs

HP pavilion gaming ryzen 5.

The only way to fix the problem is to kill the power via the surge protector and reboot.

Everytime I work on this software I should use the task manager to kill the task and restart the software .

Kindly pls help me on this , I have spent close to 80k on my laptop and I'm in serious trouble bcz it's not serving my purpose where as a 10year old desktop with only 10% features works great .

Assuming you have sufficient RAM and spare disk capacity you need to upgrade your software to match your smart (expensive) hardware. Adobe's Photography Plan includes Photoshop and updates, as they are released plus Lightroom and some cloud storage and it's only around $10 a month – some may say it's a snip!

Is this the laptop you purchased for $80,000?

Hi  @Naga5C41

Thank you for explaining — I was doing a double-take at that price!

Old software (CS6) works best on the OS and hardware it was designed for, and it will continue working as long as you keep that setup. CS6 was released in 2012 and since then, there have been nine additional releases of Photoshop. Old software does not always work when you change either the hardware or the OS, and that is what you are seeing now.

Photoshop has been subscription only since 2013, and there is a Photography plan (annual) at a good price. See details here:

https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/plans.html

You might start with the 7-day trial to confirm it works. The minimum and recommended requirements are here, and it's best to go with recommended or better.

"I have spent close to 80k on my laptop" not sure what currency you deal with but 80K seems a lot for a laptop 😀

OK what exactly happens when Photoshop crashes do you get an error message, what exactly are your computer system specs, Photoshop CS6 was released in 2012 and was not designed to run on modern operating systems
