Script that can automate t-shirt variation designs

I am fairly new to photoshop, is there a way to create a script that can automate the process of making dozens of .png variation designs? Say I have one design that all I need changed is one of the words and the color to make 50 different variations. Can anyone point me to how to do this, or would it be fairly easy to hire out so I could utilize the script for multiple unique designs that I need variations for?
