The reason it does not show as supported is because the card has not been properly added to the allow list in the root of the program.

Go to:

C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Premiere Elements\20.0\Online\Hw Acc Render\All_Lang\HW\Files\allowlisted_cards.txt

and add you card exactly like this:

NVIDIA#NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER#

I didn't save a link to post here, but I remember a discussion that having to go to the nvidia site to download an OLDER driver was required due to the way the PrE video code was written... in that a video driver from X date was used to certify the card to the internal module, and a driver from Y date would not work

Other people (I don't remember the model nvidia card) must use the newest STUDIO driver, not the game driver

-such as (this MAY not be the latest) https://www.nvidia.in/Download/driverResults.aspx/177929/en-in

Many thanks for your fast reply. I have changed the installed game driver to studio driver, the latest "472.47". Same result.

For me it is not an option to downgrade the driver. So I will not license this version. The few new features compared to version 2021 do not justify an upgrade for me. Once again. Many thanks for your post.

Hi Ann, many thanks for your support. I made it and it works. The same workaround for Version 2021, too.

But the effect and performance are poor. I know that only a few effects are supported by this.

And in addition: the GPU support is disabled for the test version. This is important to know and a good idea to mention it if some complains about NOT WORKING GPU Support. Best Regards KaBaMan

Argh. I can't believe it's taken this long to get a solution. I have Premiere Elements 2021 and at it appears clear that while some of the NVIDIA cards in the allowedcards file were added with NVIDIA in the name, others weren't (RTX 2060 in my case.)  Adding a line with NVIDIA in the name allows it to be recognized for accelerated effects & transitions.
Now if I can just get an answer as to why export only allows software encoding despite me having an Intel GPU that's supposed to be supported (and apparently works if you have a laptop.) Yes, I know that's not covered by this thread. 🙂

Hardware encoding is not supported by Elements.

Hi Ann, that would seem contrary to the information (posted 27 April 2021) here: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/gpu-accelerated-rendering---hardware-encoding.html

It specifically identifies Hardware-accelerated Encoding/Decoding as supported in Adobe Premiere Elements. I have an Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPU (it showed as the supported card for rendering before I figured out how to enable the NVIDIA) and Intel Core i9-10900 CPU.

What am I missing?

Regards,

Andrew

LATEST

Hardware encoding is only available if an Intel® CPU with Intel Media SDK support is used.

Cannot help you any further as I do not have a cpu with a intergrated gpu.
