Captions cutting off characters when using custom fonts

Community Beginner ,

In PrP 25.x, when creating captions using the new social styles - e.g. bold with white background, etc., exports are cutting off portions of characters and punctuation when using custom (non-default) fonts.

The captions will display properly in the edit window, but are cut off on export. (examples attached)

Workaround seems to be increasing the background expand from the default of 17.4 to 20.

Hi @David.Swinehart
Can you send your sequence settings and export settings? Do you have any screen recordings or steps to your problem that can help us reproduce this? The link here, How to Report a Problem, has steps to provide more information about your bug that can help us identify the issue.

@David.Swinehart,

I've now updated to 25.4.1.

Did you start this project with the Social Media template?

Which sequence preset are you using that shows the problem? I'll try to replicate.

What is one font that causes the problem? Are any of them Adobe fonts?

Your screenshots show only a small bit, but by "cut off," I think you are saying that part of the caption is not covered by the background?

@IanB_360 - Occurs in both social (9:16 1080x1920, 30fps) and standard widescreen (16:9 1920x1080, 30fps and 23.98fps) when using the Adobe social caption template. I was using "Bold Captions with White Background" as shown in the screenshot. @Stan Jones - Yes, this was the one included with the Adobe social project template.

In my case, our brand font is Cera / Cera PRO, both of which triggered the error. It does not occur when using the default caption font. It was most noticable in punctuation. I'm not sure why increasing the background expansion solved it, but it seems to work, so that's what we'll do going forward.

I used the sequence Instagram reel vertical 9:16 and the style Bold captions white background in 25.4.1 on Win 11. I do not have cera pro, and used Source Sans Pro Bold as similar. I exported .mp4 with captions burned in.

I don't see anything cut off or missing. But I don't understand from your screenshot what is missing there either.

I tried changing the background size, but even at its smallest, the export is the same as the image in PR - very tight to the text/punctuation, but not cut off.
