Getting Audio Sync Delay in V24 but not V23

I shoot number of unsophisitcated videos using a consumer grade camera which I edit with Premiere Pro.  The video is in native Canon HD format.  The last two times I imported the video into V24.6.1 I get a significant audio sync problem -- 1-2 sec delay in the audio.  I get the delay in both the Source Monitor and the Edit piece.

I then fire up V23.6.9 and everything works as normal.   Video imported with no sync problem.

Is there some kind of bug in the conforming process in 2024?    Some new "feature" that causes this delay?   It is very annoying.

(As context I have done probably 40 of these videos so I am not a complete rookie)

Hi,

Please provide the developers with more information. See, How do I write a bug report?

There is a bug with AVCHD footage in 24.x. Try to roll back a version or transcode your media to ProRes. I hope the advice helps.

Thanks,
Kevin

Came here to report the exact same problem using the exact same video file format.

Here is the codec info for the types of files (AVCHD/ .MTS files—at least in my case) that are causing problems:

We have had exactly the same issue.

A workaround seemed to be to do go into the Sequence Settings and adjust the timebase to and from the native fps.

We would be very grateful if anyone had any further insight into the problem!

Not really.

As noted in my original post I figured out it was a bug by using the
previous version.

I can confirm the issue is happening in V25 as well. I work at a university where students edit video projects using Premeire Pro in shared computer labs. Performing some type of campus-wide rollback to V23 is out of the question. It is also unrealistic to tell students to transcode their video files before editing in Premiere—especially when they're new to video editing.

Adobe needs to fix this ASAP. It is absolutely ridiculous.
