MOGRT crash when «Render and Replace» is used with a Speed duration is involved.

Hi!
Premiere Pro v25.5
Ventura 13.6.6
3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9

MOGRT designed by a graphic designer (no control)
Purpose: Lower Third with Alpha channel
Particularity: French accents in the 2 fields

Because Media Encoder digest realy badly the .aegraphic (or .mogrt) i took the habit of «Rendering and Replacing…» the .mogrt file after having done a copy on a different video track and masking the backup track.
It is usualy going smooth (with the same mogrt 8 times in the timeline). But this particular one cause me problems.
Events Error (I don't have access to copy the message in the Events Panel!!!!!) :
«Frame substitution recursion attempt aborting after multiple attemps on file…»
If I remove the Speed Duration effect on the .mogrt. The render goes fine.

Hi @dan_9356,

Thanks for the message.  I'm sorry a MOGRT is giving you issues.  Would you be able to send me that MOGRT to test with?  If not, can you send a video of what's happening?  Is it actually crashing Premiere or just causing it to hang up?  What video format are you using?   If you have time, please give the team a few more details. • Issue – A MOGRT has multiple «Frame substitution recursion attempt» when trying to "Render ans Replace…"
• Steps to reproduce –
⁃ the animation (lowerthird) has 2 fields: Name and Occupation
⁃ 1st field: "Claudia Sené"
⁃ 2nd field: "La mariée"
⁃ A .Mogrt (Track 8) is copied unto a lower track (Track 7).
⁃ Turn off track 8
⁃ The copy (Track 7) is then "Render and Replaced…" .
⁃ Individual Clips
⁃ Format QuickTime
⁃ Match Source - Apple ProRes 4444
⁃ Next to original Media
⁃ No Handle

• Expected result – The .mov video should be able to be read without any error.
• Actual result – For 9 over 10 Lowerthird done on the same timeline: no problem. But some are getting «Frame substitution recursion attempt aborting after multiple attemps on file…»

• Adobe Premiere Pro version – v25.5.0 (Built13)
• Operating system – Ventura 13.6.6

• Video format – Timeline is 3840 x 2160 23.98fps
• Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
◦ Does it affect all projects or only some projects?  It affects only one project.
◦ Does it affect new projects? Doesn't know for now.
◦ When did the problem begin? I think it has to do with how to handle the drag and drop of the mogrt from the Graphics Template Panel.
⁃ I was copying a mogrt that was on the timeline "PLV_TextGraphics_V1"
⁃ Changing the Name and Occupation fields.
⁃ then drag with "Option" over the next heroshot. Doing the same thing for 10 other participants.
⁃ It usualy worked.
⁃ But there was a behavior where a correction didn't apply and came back on the export.
⁃ I think I start to understand that for every participant I have to drag from the the Graphics Templates Panel unto the timeline and on the assets Panel (Project Panel) I have to RENAME the mogrt. And I have to do this for all my participants. Otherwise it COULD in some occasions do an overwriting of the fields.
⁃ Despite this awkward behavior of the drag and drop. the render should not cause a need for «Frame substituition».
⁃ Is it the French accents that are causing the issue?

The .Mogrt file is 60Mb Mogrt file on WeTransfer PLV14_MOGRT issue.jpgScreenshot 2025-10-29 at 16.11.06.png

I should have had that the MOGRT on the timeline was speedup with "Speed Duration" option before doing the "Render and Replace…" command. By removing the "Speed Duration" and after having done the render and doing the "Speed Duration" on the .mov file stopped the errors.
