MultiCam sync broken - won't see all audio channels from camera when syncing boom and radio-mics

In Premiere Pro 24.6.1

A big bug causing frustrations:
Currently I'm syncing up camera, boom mic and 2 x radiomics on a feature film.

When I select multicam to sync camera and mics, I can only select 1 audio track.
If only sync camera files I am offered up to 4 tracks/mixdown, which I need.
Why?
Luckily, hidden away on an HDD, I had an old version of Pluraleyes 4 stashed away.
Did a fine job.
Two guesses for where the project went to next?
Why, latest version of PPro is offering less functionality (NO Adobe Cloud & No Legacy effects) + more frequent crashes.
However, I promised K.M. that I would share here.
Hereby done.

Thanks for posting this bug report, @Madsvid. I hope we can get better traction for your issue here.

You've described the issue well, but the team may need more information about your system and media. Can you provide that?

Mac or PC, CPU/GPU/RAM/HD, and the media type you edit with. Also include any other details regarding workflow, such as the use of proxies.

I hope we can get your issue sorted here as soon as possible. Sorry for the hassle.

Thanks,
Kevin

I look at proxies, like I used to do U-Matic tape to tape editing as a teenager:
"Previews are for wimps" - no offence intended to anyone, just a light comment.

I don't use proxies, as most of my work is in "fixing problems" or finalising, QC, and delivering masters for broadcasting.

Hi @Madsvid ,

Thanks for providing the detals above.

Currently I'm syncing up camera, boom mic and 2 x radiomics on a feature film.
When I select multicam to sync camera and mics, I can only select 1 audio track.

What are the specs of these mic recordings?  Are the boom mic and radio mics on separate channels of the same audio file?  Or are you trying to sync a separate audio file for each mic (1CH each)?

What Premiere Pro is indicating is "the maximum number of common audio channels across all selected items is": 1

I'm unclear from your description if you did actaully attempt to sync these items in Premiere Pro, and that sync failed, or if you turned to another solution based on the number of channels presented alone.  If each individual production audio channel had common audio also present in your on-camera Channel 1, I would expect your audio sync to work correctly in Premiere Pro.  I'd love to know if this does in fact yield unexpected results.

Appreciate your feedback - Thank you!

Hey Ben,

All audio is mono channels.

If I select all camera and audio files to sync, I only get channel 1 as an option, and as the scratch audio is on the camera channel 3 and 4, then that does not sync.

If I "only" select camera files for Multicam, I am given the option of all 4 channels + mixdown (as there was only one camera, that did not work for me).

Files plays back fine inside PPro.

Some years back I purchased Red Giant PluralEyes (another comapny that has self-destructed, this time under Maxon).
Anyway, got to give Red Giant their credit, as Plural Eyes did it, and transported the data through PPro, onwrds onto the editing software that the production wants to use for the edit.

Sorry, if not clear.

Premiere Pro was not able to do the camera / audio sync, which has not been a problem last time I did something similar.
