P: 25.6.2 Missing Text Panel; Empty UXP Panels

Community Expert ,
Nov 22, 2025 Nov 22, 2025

Update 12/3/25: This update is based on my tests as of this morning. This does not appear fixed by updating to 25.6.3. This bug report focused on workspaces and the text panel. The list of symptoms is longer. There is another long thread that focuses on failure of export commands:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/p-premiere-pro-won-t-export-ui-frozen-need-help/idi...

Trigger: For some users, when the Adobe Stock panel is open, whether it is in focus or not, after 10-15 seconds, it fails to load and causes one or more of the symptoms identified. The Stock Panel is open by default in the Essentials, Learning, Editing, and Libraries workspaces, and perhaps others. Once the problem is triggered, you cannot recover without restarting PR. Reloading the project alone does not work.

Symptoms (Incomplete list):

  • The Export mode/dialogue window cannot be accessed using Ctrl+M; File -> Export -> Media; Quick Export; or clicking on the Export tab. File -> Export -> Send to media encoder still works.
  • Text panel is empty, shows as unchecked in the Window submenu.
  • Text panel is missing, shows as unchecked, and clicking it in the Window submenu does nothing.
  • Text panel transcript and captions become unresponsive.
  • “UXP Panel n” (where n is an increasing number as you change workspaces) appear instead of an actual panel (for me this has included the Text and the Adobe Stock panels).

Best Workaround:

  • The most effective and least limiting workaround is to avoid opening the stock panel by modifying your workspaces.
  • Set Window -> Workspace -> "Import Workspace from Projects" OFF. You can set it on, but then each project must be set up correctly.
  • Close the Adobe stock panel in any workspace you use. You can do this in PR even when the problems are present. Do not later use "reset to saved layout" unless you want to redo that process.
  • Or create custom workspaces once you close the stock panel.
  • Note that these workspace changes are in your preferences, so if you reset preferences you lose them.

Other Workarounds:

  • Resetting preferences, creating a new project, uninstalling/reinstalling 25.6.2, and other steps may result in PR “working,” but it may be because you have not loaded the Adobe Stock panel. As soon as you do, it fails.
  • Install PR 25.5.0. This works, but I believe it is not necessary to avoid this bug.
  • Open in the Captions and Graphics workspace and do not change workspace. This works because it does not open the stock panel, but it is unnecessarily limiting.

Original bug report 11/22/25:

When changing workspaces, the Text panel no longer appears; various empty panels show, e.g. "UXP Panel 3," "UXP Panel 4," etc. I do not see the problem in Beta 26.0.0.36.

I updated to 25.6.2 from 25.6.1. As always, when opening the first time, I reset preferences, cache, and plugin loading cache, and I created a new project. After seeing this problem, I restarted my PC and reset preferences, cache, and plugin loading cache, disabled third-party plugins, and created a new project. Same result. I then repeated that a third time to get more details. I confirmed I am in 25.6.2 Build 1.

"Import workspace" is off. I note that even with disabling plugins, 5 plugins are still available. I will explore that further.

PR opens in the Learning workspace. The Text panel is present, and is checked in the Window menu. I switched to the Captions and Graphics workspace, and the Text panel is still present, unlike each of the previous 2 times. I now switched to the Editing menu. In the panel group with the Project Panel, there is an empty panel "UXP Panel 3." There is no Text panel visible, and the Text panel is not checked in the Window menu. When I switch back to the Captions and Graphics workspace, the Text panel is not present, there is an empty panel "UXP Panel 4" in the Source monitor group, and the Text panel is not checked in the Window menu. (See screenshot.) I switched to the Learning workspace, the Text panel is not present, there is an empty panel "UXP Panel 5" in the Source monitor group, an empty panel "UXP Panel 6" in the Project Panel group, and the Text panel is not checked in the Window menu.

I closed and reopened PR, and opened the last project. It was (as expected) in the Learning workspace, and the Text panel was present. I changed to Captions and Graphics, then Editing, then Captions and Graphics, and then Learning. The same problems occurred with the exact results.

PR 25.6.2 PR Beta 26.0.0.36.

What version of PR? That sounds like this bug:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/p-25-6-2-missing-text-panel-empty-uxp-panels/idi-p/15604156

Before closing PR, switch to the Captions and Graphics workspace, then reopen and create a new test project. Does that work?

Hi @HustonCMichael

Thank you for reporting a problem and sorry you've been experiencing issues.

Echoing @MarekMularczyk's questions, are there other panels not showing up or is this affecting Import and Export windows specifically? Users have been able to use the top menu File > Export > Send to Media Encoder as a workaround, is this working on your end?

Do you have the Adobe Stock window enabled/open, and if you close it and restart Premiere Pro, do you notice a difference?

Sorry fo

Hi all we are working on getting a fix released.

In the meantime, you can make sure to close the Adobe Stock panel and save your workspace, then restart Premiere Pro. The issue can happen on some systems when the Stock panel is opened, and so doing the above should avoid it until we get a fix out.

Hey Walter_Serwin, sorry for this frustration!

Let's try this. I see the "Adobe Stock" panel open in the bottom left of that screen recording. If you close that panel, can you go to export your project?

Let us know!

I’m having exactly the same issue. There’s no way to export anything unless you click ‘Send to Media Encoder,’ where it will export. I’ve tried uninstalling, installing, clearing the cache, etc., and nothing... it keeps giving the same problem over and over again.

This is definitely a bug.  But while it's looked at by Adobe i found a work around.    Create a new project. Skip the media import screen.  Open window dropdown and click text.  A text window will open up.  Don't close it.  Open the project where the bug is. Your text will appear in that floating window. It seems to have full functionality. But it disappears if you go to another workspace.  Any port in a storm, right?

Anyone else having issues with Premiere Pro? Yesterday it was being funky for me. Today it hasn't worked for me at all. I've tried every suggestion I could find. I just did an app update too, like 30 mins ago, and it's still acting up:

The main issue seems to be that once I start a project it won't allow me to leave Edit mode. My Mac book Pro is about 2 months old, not even.

Hi SR_B

Were you able to try the suggestion I shared above? Do you have the Adobe Stock panel open or closed?

I'm curious to see if it helps the export issue.

How were you able to downgrade to 25? My updates are set to uninstall all older versions and I cannot seem to find 25 in the Creative Cloud app

You set the Preference as to whether or not to remove prior versions. Although, when updating, it always gives the option to remove prior versions, which annoys me.

And the three-button menu to the right of each app on the center section of the CC desktop apps page has the options for showing previous versions.

Hi Caroline,

Update: When you told me to close the Adobe Stock panel, I then tried exporting and clicking the buttons that previously weren’t working and, just as I mentioned earlier, nothing changed, everything was still the same. However, when I closed the project and opened it again… everything started working correctly! I can export without any issues now, and all the buttons that weren’t responding are working again. I tested re-enabling the Adobe Stock panel to confirm, and sure enough, when it’s activated, everything breaks again.

Hello to All. I've read all the respones and am having the same problems. I'm running Tahoe but haven't had any problems until yesterday. I've done everything mentioned here and online, including removing and reloading the program. Media Encoder doesn't work. I was able to generate a preview file using VLC but thats it. I can't export any of the other videos using Premier.

@SR_B @caroline_edits,

Exactly! I think when you closed your project, you also exited PR. If you just close and reopen the project, without closing PR, the problem is not resolved.

If you open the stock panel or switch to a workspace that opens the stock panel, even if the stock panel is not in focus, the problem will happen. If the panel is in focus, you'll see the spinning circle. The problem happens once its stops spinning.

So, I have spent enough time trying to reproduce and work around this problem. Not worth it anymore - I have real work to get done ... it is definitely a bug introduced recently and therefore I assume it will be fixed quickly.

Thanks for the suggestions and speculations, esp @StanJones.  But, my advice to anyone with this problem... revert to 25.6.1 (a simple process in the Creative Cloud dashboard -- look for the 3-dots in your PR section.) Turn off auto-updates for PR until the next update is announced, which I trust the powers-that-be will make known in this post.

@Stan Jones  Yes, sorry. I meant that after completely closing the Premiere app and opening it again, everything worked fine. As long as the program stayed open, it still didn’t work even after closing the Adobe Stock tab.

@gurpreet_4909 Take a look to this chat, the solution is to close that tab and then reopen the program.

@tbaum42,

It is a very frustating bug for those of us affected by it. I posted an update to this bug report just now (top of this thread). I have installed 25.6.3, and it is not fixed for me. I reset preferences and cache, and easily demonstrated the bug.

Even though I am describing a single triggering event, I don't think they have pinned down the actual bug. So we shall see.

At least one user reported the issue in 25.6.1; let us know what you see.

I posted an update to my bug report that focused on the text panel effects that I think are due to the same underlying trigger. I updated to 25.6.3 and do not believe this is fixed.

I managed to find a working solution for my case.

After opening on a fresh install. I went to the source panel. One of the tabs was empty with UXP4 on it. I just right clicked and closed panel. Then restarted the software. When I activated Text from the window menu it appeared.

25.6.3 does not appear to fix this in our environment. Guess I roll our labs back to 25.5 until I can test the next release.

Sorry to hear it isn't fixed in 25.6.3.  I reverted to 25.6.1 and got it to work, but I later realized I needed to re-transcribe the text using UK English instead of US English (I don't think I was prompted the first time) but now the option to re-translate the text track was not to be found, so I'm fixing it by hand. At least editing works for me. I'll put off any more text transcription / captions for a while. Sigh. I suggest to Adobe that they run the entire set of function tests on the Text feature.

(It says I'm new, above, but I've been here a long time but finally needed to report something. I'm still a fan.)
