After adding a clip to one of my project folders, the bin keeps on scrolling to the top automatically.

I closed and reopened the app, but the issue persists.

The issue happens only for that specifin folder, all others behave as usual.

Premiere Pro version is 24.5.0 (Build 57) on Mac OS Sonoma 14.5

I've just run the same test in v25.1.0 BETA (Build 11), the latest beta that shows available at the moment on Mac, and I couldn't replicate the issue. That seems promising.

When it's happen, I used to drag some random footage from bin to the timeline, move the bin cursor and then delete these footage from timeline. It's used to work for me.

Has anyone on a Mac tested in both Release 24.6.1 and Beta 25.1.0?

As I reported in other posts, it was fixed on Win 10 in Release 24.6.1 (but not 24.6.0) and Beta 25.1.0 Build 2 (but not 25.0.0 Build 29).

@JebusIsEre,

Thanks for reporting. The issue on PC is odd, since it is no longer occurring for me.

Did you use exactly the method I described above to test the problem?

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/p-premiere-media-bin-automatically-scrolling-to-the...

In particular, creating a new project? This might help the developers pin down what is happening.

Issue still unsolved, no response from Adobe, spend your money elsewhere. "Premier" software now includes bugs that make it less efective than the free alternativews considering the time it takes to fix this bug on your own, 10 times per hour. Ironic name, isn't it?

I only have the problem if I drag and try to drop clips further than past the clips that can be seen in the window (scrolling by dragging or whatever it is called). If I select a clip and drag it gradually in steps to where I want it to end up, the problem doesn't happen.

As of 02/10/2024, windows 10, Adobe prem pro update 24.6.1, this update has not been patched, happened again to me today, had to re-open prem pro for it to stop, has been an ongoing issue for months, its not a super big issue but can be a real pain in the butt when you're in the flow of things and have to close out mid-edit. ;(((

Understood, I did a quick search around but couldn't find a way. Once people get the fix, it should calm down noticeably

I'm the engineer of our team, not an editor. One of my editors has a weird issue, seems to be a bug, but I thought I'd check if it is a known problem, or if there are known solutions.
Premiere:24.6.1
MacOS:12.6
Mac Studio M1 Ultra
In a bin, in thumbnail view, she scrolls to the bottom of the thumbnails, and the bin automatically scrolls back to the top. It acts like someone is holding down an up-arrow button, it will scroll to the bottom, but the second you stop scrolling down, it scrolls back up on its own. It is also doing this same exact thing on her laptop (Macbook Pro). None of my other editors are seeing this bug (or at least haven't complained about it). Resizing thumbnails has no effect. List/detail mode dosn't do this. Nothing else auto scrolls up but thumbnail mode.
Extra bug detail - if you shut down premiere, restart, reopen project, and go to the bin, it will not do this. Then if you try to drag and drop one of the clips, suddenly the bug returns.
I reset preferences. No help. I had her do a workaround by just making the bin window larger to get all thumbnails into the window, so it can't scroll.

@Scott25296190yn7u,

Your post got moved to this thread about the bug discussed here. The bug continues in 24.6.1, but is fixed in the Beta 25 and should be in the next/25 release. When I first installed 24.6.1, I did not see the bug, but on a separate machine (also Win 10), it is easy to replicate.

Workarounds - I do not see a full list; here are 2:

Use List view or Freeform.

As the items are scrolling click on one and drag it slightly. There are several versions of this workaround reported - at one point I thought I could just click on it, but that does not fix it today. Once fixed, the bin appears to be okay. But I'm also convinced that depends on other factors.

One of the reasons I did not see the bug initially is that I never used icon view.

After adding files to the media bin, it autoscrolls to the top and I can't get it to stop. This started after update 24.6.1, despite other posts on here stating it has been fixed in a previous update.

@defaulti0vkq7bxwmoq,

I see the problem in 24.6.1 on a different PC than the one where I thought it was fixed. The official statement says fixed in Beta 25.x, and presumably next release.

I'm on 25.0 and it's doing it, so regardless of it being marked as fixed, it's definitely not

@B-Roll Benny,

I have now installed PR 25.0.0 and tested on the PC where I just demonstrated the problem in 24.6.1. I do not see the problem.

When I install a new release version (any update really), I always reset preferences, clear the cache, and create a new project.
