Shucks, I don't get to break the news on anything anymore...

Premiere Pro 4.2 does in fact add AVC-I and offers some additional fixes too.  Should be out soon.

Dennis

As I said earlier...it's coming but we ran into a few snags.  Patience and persistance - this forum has both in abundance...

Sorry for being so harsh earlier. When ever you guys get around to it... Actually the thing I care about in the update is the better HD - SD encoding other than that I'd rather you guys make sure 64bit cs5 works great out of the box. I really hope you guys make an attempt to take on AVID and FCP when it comes to Feature films.

(Sorry Dennis, just being goofy!)

From DVXuser.com

"Dave Helmly, Adobe's product manager, said the other day on another forum..."

"I’m putting the final touches on the Premiere 4.2 and Adobe Media Encoder 4.2 video and you’ll see the updater posted in a few weeks. You can look forward to AVC-Intra Editing, HD>SD scaling fixes in Media Encoder and bug fixes and more."

LOL!! OK, even the Adobe folks have to admit that was a good one, Harm gets to wear the Raccoon Lodge Hat this week. I almost spit my soda out when I read that...

But like Mikael said, no prob at all, we anticipate great things in this release, so that's worth waiting for.

Can't resist.

Dave is not a product manager - nor am I in case you get those ideas.  However, we are both closely tied with product development and bring a lot of customer perspective to the product managers...

Hey, Dennis Radeke, President and CEO of Adobe Systems Worldwide, stated the other day at a United Nations technology conference (sponsored by NASA) that the Premiere Update would be released along with the latest pseudo code for the robotic probes being sent to Saturn in January 2013.

I know this is true, I was at the conference.

And if you believe that, have I got a bridge for YOU.

...Now if I only could get that pay scale.

If I were - I might change the title to EDO - executive dude officer...

That seems to be Dave Hemly's prerogative, so check out the newly-added videos section on Adobe TV.
