Hi everyone,
I've just upgraded to Premiere Pro 2023 only to find that a DNXHD SQ(145mb/s) + 8 audios channels export was wrong on the audio side... I am using the same export presets since 2020 and I have done around 300 exports with my presets and it was working fine all the time.
The weird thing is that my MXF files has the good video channel but are missing every "right" audio channels...
My file has blank audio on channels 2-4-6-8 but has something on 1-3-5-7...
I reinstall Premiere 2022 and then, it works! Premiere 2023 is deleting my audio!
Pretty weird behavior Adobe...??!
Thanks a lot and hope to get your feedback if anyone got an idea of why it happen.

In the 2023 version, check the audio channels out to see how Premiere is treating them. And don't uninstall or replace 2022, just add 2023 and check the channel assignments for those sequences.

Hi, same problem here with 2023.
missing every "right" audio channels...
blank audio on channels 2-4-6-8 but has something on 1-3-5-7...
same config used to work fine in premiere 2022 but i can open this project in previous versions... so, what?
a few example screens to illustrate the issue.
1) I create a new sequence XDCAM 25P - 4.2.2 with modified audio settings, like this:
the edit sequence looks like this:
export settings: Encoder 2023 . MXF OP1A/
Audio/ 8 channels
Effects: (I cant find this in the direct premiere exporter).
The same for 1: 1-2
and... the exported sequence looks like:
i tried everything. same config in Premiere 2022 works fine.
something must be broken but i cant find what...
any ideas? will be truly appreciated
Thanks in advance!

I am happy that I am not the only one...!!!
Very clear Almu and I experienced exactly the same thing! The sequence has something in it first and same export settings than my previous 300 exports... My codec is DNxHD SQ 145 mb/s instead of your XDCAM for the sequence but the export is MXF OP1A too... It can be something there too...
Your screenshot are not in english and my version is in french...
Is it possible that it can be a concern? A weird interpretation of a french number or something like that...?
Thanks to everyone!

you are definitely not alone Phil.
i think it must be something in the exporting process. it smells to me like bug...
Hope we can find a solution soon. Let´s see 😃
Thanks!

Roger's suggestions should be all you need. If not, please post a screenshot of the Audio Track Mixer.

It works here if i use a timeline with Mono tracks and set the Master/Mix on the timeline to Multichannel, pan the clips in the Audio Track Mixer, set the Track Channel Output Assignement/Basic Audio Settings, set the Audio Channel Configuration in the export settings for audio to Mono and export to a codec that supports multichannel. I used Apple ProRes and got it to work with DNXHD SQ as well. ( @PhilDrolet )
The left segment on the timeline is the original and the right segment is the exported file and that audio tracks match.
@AlmuSanz Use a Multichannel timeline instead of a Stereo timeline and don´t configure for export of Stereo.

Have exactly the same problem since Premiere 2023 and just found the culprit, at least in my setup. For television we need to normalize the audio according to EBU standards and as soon as I disable the checkbox "Loudness Normalization" in my export preset everything works fine – except for the now missing normalization of course. 🙄

Thanks for the return post! That is good information, and disturbing of course.
@Matt_Stegner to the rescue? And attention?
Can you use the effect on the tracks and get this done for now? Or by sending the sequence to Audition?

Didn't yet find a feasible normalization workaround (which can be easily communicated and reliably adopted by the whole team). Would prefer none at all.

Hoping Matt pops in on this, he's one of the leads on audio in Pr/Au.

Thanks for the info... they always screw things up every time they come out with a new version or upgrade, just so frustrating. I don't know what I did but I got it to work for this video, who knows about the next one since I don't know what or how I got it to export properly. Thanks again!
