Arri Raw MXF Files not importing into Premiere Pro 23.1

I'm unable to import any Arri Raw MXF files into my premiere project.  I'm also unable to open a pre-existing project with these files.  It attempts to locate the files, utilimately timing out and making me force quit the app.  However, we have another editor on the project, running a previous version of Premiere, with these same files, who doesn't have that issue.

14" MacBook M1 MAX, 64 gigs of ram.

I'm running Premiere Pro 23.1 on Mac OS 13.1 (Ventura).

My assumption is that it's a bug with the newest iteration of Premiere (and/or Arri RAW) with OS 13.  It's quite an ordeal to downgrade back to OS 12, so I'm hoping to find a better solution.  Any help would be appreciated!

@mjunderw00d We have verified Premiere 23.1 version on Mac 13.1. We are able to import files and play them.

Can you please share which Arri's camera files are these ? Are you able to import them in new project ?

If possible can you please share your media with us?

@Adobe - but did you import more than two file at a time?

Similar story here. I can import only one arri file at a time. Otherwise import stops at begining of a loading bar. After that files  can't be import at all, unless changing their directory folder.  I had to import 87 files separately...

No such problem with 22.5 version on that very same computer

I work on M1 Max, 64 gb.

Camera - Arri Alexa Mini LF .

Hi Mayjain and Adobe,

We're experiencing this same issue in 23.4 and 23.5. Tried two different computers - M1 and Intel, O.S. 13.5.

Files load in Davinci Resolve and unfortunatly we're unable to share the files.

Camera Type: ARRI ALEXA 35

Codec: ArriRaw

Hi @Danzyg ,

Sorry for the problem. Are your trying to import files locally or from some network locations ? Can you please share the file properties from Project Panel --> right click on media --> Properties  or with the free MediaInfo tool https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo?

Last, can you please check out the latest beta build version from the Creative Cloud --> Beta apps --> Premiere Pro (Beta) and let us know how it goes there as well.

Sorry for asking many questions. We are just trying to understand the issue as we are not able to reproduce this locally so far.

Thanks,

Mayjain

@mayjain  Provided is info Via Invisor which provides similar information as MediaInfo. We've tried locally and from our server. Going to try the Beta version now.

Hi @Brandon257090740dfe ,

Thanks for sharing the details. Looking at the media size, seems like the ArriRaw files you used are compressed files that are not yet supported in our products. You can confirm this in the Arri Reference tool (seems they are HDE MXF files transcoded by CODEX Device Manager ). We only support ArriRAW uncompressed files for now.
As a workaround, you can transcode them to Prores within the Arri Reference tool or capture ArriRAW uncompressed versions in the first place. Sorry for the trouble.

Thanks,
Mayjain
