Audio Distortion?

Hey everyone, I'm having this weired problem where the audio of my video (my voice) has this weird background sound that sounds kind of like I have on a robotic voice changer which I don't. It still sounds like my voice but it has this weird buzzing that follows my words. It's as if I'm using a crappy microphone, I use a Blue Yeti. However, in the file of the video I have on my computer it sounds normal. Please help.

You can't. I assumed you were doing a voice-over and could simply re-record the audio track. 🤷🏻‍:male_sign:

See if lowering the volume level of the audio track in Premiere gets rid of the distortion. You can use track keyframes in the timeline or the volume intrinsic effect in the effects control panel.

It worked! I completely muted the audio 1 track and kept the audio 2 track at 0.0. I think it might've been a gain problem which the audio 1 track was causing. Strange, I've never had that happen before. Thank you!

Have you applied any audio effects to the clip or track? Over use of noise reduction can cause a problem like this.

No, I just imported the video into Premiere and I haven't done any edits to it.

Meters show you clipping during recording in a couple of spots. Try dropping the recording volume down by a few dBs.

What software did you use to record the video+audio?

That is where you lower the recording volume.

I used OBS Studio. The thing is, the audio only sounds distorted when it's in Premiere. The file itself sounds fine. How do I lower the volume if it's already been recorded?

Glad it worked!

You can think of audio levels as sums. If you open the audio mixer and look at the master meters, the levels there will essentially reflect the sum of the levels of all of the audio tracks. That's not a precise description of what's actually going on, but it's a useful concept when choosing where to set your track volumes.
