Hello,
Is there any way to make the copy in a caption box is centered top and bottom?
By default there is too much space on the top of the box?
Thank you kindly,
Babs

There is a script for making captions from After Effects.

If you are looking for a sidecar (e.g. srt) or embedded file, you can use the free SubtitleEdit or similar.
If you don't have too many captions, manual titles are the best way for burn in. They also have the advantage of being higher quality than the caption tool.

Known issue. Not fixed. It appears not to happen with all fonts, but I have not sorted which.
I don't believe anyone has found a workaround.

Hi Stan,
Thank you for confirming. This is a bit distressing as I have to now go back and do these manually
For a video editing program, I would think vertically centering the copy would be the default, or an option to modify at the very least.
Thank you gain for your time and confirming.
Best,
Babs

Thank you Stan!
I will look into the after effects script since I am more familiar with that program anyway
