I have been trying to use the mask option, and I can not use it at all. I have been watching lots of YouTube tutorials about masking, I have been following them step by step and Nada.
I put a video on time line, then I put the second video on the other time line, I go to effect contol - opacity- got the pen, drew points around the object and nothing happen. I can not see the video under the masking, when I press play I just see the video on the second time line, I cant never see the video on the first time line.
This part has been very frustrating, cus I have been able to do preatty much all with the YouTube help, but this masking effect doesnt work for me at all, maybe I need to re downoald the program.
Any sugestion I will apreciate it, I have been stuck for a week trying to find the soution to this.

It looks like the same clip track 1 and track 2. Delete the clip on 1 or just move it (drag it) to the right, you'd have a black cut-out.

Make sure you've properly closed the mask. Just make a simple one with 4 points, and the last point is on top of the first point.

Last point is on top on the first. But still no results. Thank you

Thanks for being so responsive. It all looks right, but something isn't!
For a fresh test, I would drag the clip from the Project Panel to Track 2 after the previous clips. In Opacity, click on the rectangle instead of using the pen - this will put a full rectangular mask in the middle of the screen. You should see the rectangle with the video showing, and black all around.
You can also right click in the Project Panel, New Item, and pick bars and tones. This gives you a test clip that should work.
If that doesn't work, I would restart PR, reset preferences, and create a new test project and test there.

There is no point in masking if the two clips are the same.

As long as you have the same clip above and below, you will not see the mask effect. In the tutorial, his mask shows no difference - until he changes the scale and offsets.
I do not know why you did not see the effect when you moved the clips so there was nothing underneath:

That's why I was suggesting you get a clean start to test it.

Then you did the rest of the tests with the same track on top and on bottom. You won't see a mask that way. Move the clip on track 1 out of there again.
