Hi,
Can anyone please recommend a Proxy/AME preset setting as a proxy for 4K footage out of a Sony FS5.
When I tried using an H.264 preset [which worked on 4K footage from the Sony A7Sii & a6300], it failed when I used
it on the FS5, and this was the error message, "The selected preset does not support the audio channel type of the clip"
I'd appreciate any advice on how to create proxies that'll work.
Clip specs from the FS5's MXF files: XAVC long 420 UHD-1 24p, 3840 × 2160, Millions
Thanks in advance,
Wayne
Hi,
Update:
I used one of the built-in ProRes presets 1280x720 and that seemed to work.
Seems like it didn't like going MXF to H.264.
Thanks for the help.

H.264 can get smaller file-sizes on disc, however ... that is by nature a harder wrapper on the CPU than others such as Cineform and DNxHD/R or ProRes (the latter only on Mac of course).
Those latter three all edit better, and there are versions of DNxHD/R and ProRes that do make smaller file-sizes but edit better (easier on CPU) than H.264. Have you tried those?
