A couple days ago I spent all day editing a project. It's about 10 minutes long and consists of all iPhone videos - various frame rates and resolutions. It came out great and I closed the project for the night. The next day I came back and tried to open the project and after the loading bar completes, I get the error: An unknown error has occurred while opening the project. Other projects open normally. New projects open normally. But this one does not. I am so upset and frustrated about the lost work.
I went to my recent auto saves and they give me the same error. If I go way back in the auto saves, they will open normally but that was before many hours of additional work on the edit.
I made a new project and tried to import the old project and I get the error: The importer reported a generic error.
I used Media Browser to view the project and the window where I should see everything is blank, even after the loading bar finishes.
I used Project Repair from Digital Rebellion's Pro Maintenance Tools which thinks it has repaired the project, but I get the same error when trying to open it.
I used CS Repair from Digital Rebellion's Pro Maintenance Tools to trash Premiere preferences. No help either.
I googled the error message endlessly and although the same question has been asked, none of them got an answer.
Please advise.

The project crashed with .flac audio error. Of course none of the auto-save files work.

Mohsenagha - are you going to try repairing it today? Will it help if I send you the earliest auto-save I've got - it's only 209 kb - it doesn't open as well but it might be easier to locate faulty xml parts in it.

My friend your project file is healthy, so the problem is somewhere else, try this Re: Project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements.

Unfortunately These days I'm facing with lots of Project files with problems in compression. And as I know there is no way to recover corrupted zip file because usually a big portion of file is missing and premier needs every single lines of the XML core to load the file.
as you can see above the problem is in compression at the first hand.

My friend your XML is healthy but the problem is hiding somewhere between
more than 15 millions of characters! I spent about 2 hours but no success
yet.
I'm trying to find it but it takes me lots of time, do you steel want me to
work on it. It may need some money, If you need that project anyway PM me.

Hi Mohsenagha,
It's ok, I also tried to debug it using xml and 2 million+ lines of code will just take a lot of effort.
We'll just redo the project. Thank you.

Good NEWS
My friends after lots and lots of repairing broken projects, these days I am finishing working on a smart application which is able to scan and diagnosis and repair lots of xml problems causing that annoying error "an unknown error occurred while opening project" which is able to fix almost every broken projects from all versions of Adobe Premiere Pro, Also I am working on a website dedicated to this problem.
fixunknownerror.com (it is not finished yet)
So It would be my honor to have your comments and Ideas about that.
Thanks
