Graphic Resolution when going from 4k to 1080p

I have a Premiere Pro sequence that is 4k (4096x2160). I'm bringing in an AE lower third graphic that is 960x220, and then trying to export the 4k sequence to 1920x1080. But the graphic resolution of the lower thirds is degraded when I do this. Any ideas what could be going wrong?

your source resolution is 4k DCI ( cinema projection) which is wider than 16:9.

1920x1080 is 16:9.

4k UHD would match better ( as UHD is 16:9 ).

I'm pretty sure your problem has something to do with that mismatch.

maybe you could put the source into a 1080p timeline to begin with ( with black bars on top and bottom due to extra wide source ) and put in your lower thing and export that at 1080...??
