Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

G'day Peru Bob,

Funny you should say - An update just came out for the NVIDIA Studio driver (441.28) but the problem persists. I had the same problem with the previous version, and I'm not convinced using an even older version would solve anything.

I have, however, rolled back Premiere to version 13.1.5, and this version of Premiere works fine.

same here. Unfortunately Premiere doesn't make it easy to open v14 projects in earlier versions. so that's another nightmare.

Sorry about that. FCP XML is the "official" way to revert a project, for those that want to try it. If anyone needs assistance with this, let me know. I will continue to advocate for users to have an easy way to revert projects to previous versions. I'm definitely with you on that one.

Thanks,

Kevin

Same thing here. No solution posted. Thanks for nothing, Adobe! (Again)

Can't roll back to previous Premiere version because then can't open current projects. Thanks for nothing, Adobe (Again)

Any solution on that? Same issue experienced here. Just installed the Premiere Pro 2020 and the nightmare has started. How to downgrade Premiere Pro Version?

Farid,

I heard this happens when you are shuttling fast forward. A solution to this issue (for those that have an underpowered GPU) is to choose Project Settings > General and change to Software Only for the Mercury Playback Engine.

If you have a qualified GPU, make sure it has the latest drivers installed. A clean reinstallation may be required. Then you can enable GPU acceleration.

Thanks,
Kevin

just chipping in because I'm having the same problems.

I've just confirmed that a Clean installation of my drivers does not resolve the issue.

I'm currently running an RTX 2060 SUPER, which I doubt could be considered underpowered, and I really don't wish to use Software Only mode because it runs *abysmally* on my system.

I think that would bump up the priority for a fix. The team does know about the issue and a fix is in progress, so that is the good news.

My apologies for this situation.
