Marker Color Information Missing in CSV and Text Exports

Contributor ,

Hi Adobe Community,

I'm having trouble finding marker color information when exporting markers from Premiere Pro using File > Export > Markers.

What I've tried:

Exported markers as CSV format

Exported markers as text format

Opened CSV in Excel to check all columns

Reviewed text file for color data

The issue:
While the exports include marker names, timecodes, comments, and durations, I cannot locate any color information. The markers in my sequence have different colors (red, blue, green, etc.), but this color data doesn't appear to be preserved in either export format.

Questions:

Does Premiere Pro's native marker export function actually preserve color information?

If yes, which column/field in the CSV contains the color data?

Are there specific export settings I need to enable to include colors?

Is this a known limitation of the current export feature?

My setup:

Adobe Premiere Pro 25.2.3

Working with sequence markers, not clip markers

Markers have been assigned different colors manually

I've seen discussions about marker colors being lost when exporting sequences to video files, but I'm specifically asking about the dedicated marker data export function.

Any guidance would be appreciated - both for my workflow and for other users who might need to preserve marker color information.

Thanks!

Hi @Peter Reef:

Unfortunately, Marker Colors are not included when we use File > Export Markers.  Marker Colors are not even maintained when we copy and paste a Clip with markers from a Premiere Pro Timeline to an After Effects Timeline.

If the color information is important, I'm thinking the best option is to include an abbreviation in the Marker Comments like "gr" for green, "re" for red, and "pi" pink.  This could be done pretty quickly in the Markers panel.  Of course, that's not nearly as helpful as actually having the marker color maintained or included in a resulting text file.

I think you're onto a great feature request.
