hi all,
I am unable to disable igp in bios, disabled igp in windows device manager.
with disabled igp media encoder uses the cpu, with enabled igp it renders on igp.
multiple 1080s are in this machine running idle.
how do I render on my fast gpu? one would suffice

Hi emanuela666,
Sorry for the issue. Have you updated the GPU drivers to the latest version? Update the graphics driver | Windows 8, 7, Vista
What is the exact model number of the GPU? What is the amount of VRAM of the GPU?
Please let us know how exactly you determined Media Encoder is not using the GPU.
Thanks,
Vidya

hi,
I checked with Task Manager. Shows 100% usage on CPU or IGP. Dedicated gpu always @ ~2-3%
Of course Win10 with latest drivers for graphics card.
Dedicated GPU model is Zotac GTX 1060 with 6GB RAM (GP106 architecture)
Ok my bad... 1060 instead of 1080s
But not connected via SLI. Just two separate cards.
